Blazers v. Hornets, Linkafication!

Hornets 247 has a little match-up breakdown, they apparently underestimate LaMarcus. I also enjoy the DNP Jerryd Bayless in the graphic up top. Blazers Edge gets the ball rolling on Blazer at Hornets talk. Byron Scott wants more out of Mike James. Darth Blazer wants us Blazer fans in attendance to s... ...

No Oden, No problem. Nicolas Batum for ROY!

After a listless effort in their opener, the Portland Trailblazers won a nailbiter at home against a tough San Antonio Spurs team on Friday night. The Blazers are loaded with rookie of the year candidates as many picked Greg Oden to win the award heading into the season. Rookie Spaniard Rudy Fernandez has been another trendy pick after his solid performance against Team USA in the Olympic gold medal matchup. A few even thought that maybe Jerryd Bayless could potentially surprise some people t...

2008 NBA Preview: #13 Portland Trail Blazers

Offseason Movement: The two big additions this offseason were Rudy Fernandez, a versatile Manu Ginobili-like Spanish wing and Jerryd Bayless, a University of Arizona combo guard dripping with potential. In addition, the team will get Greg Oden back from an injury that knocked him out of the 2007-08 season.

Jerryd Bayless publicity shot likely to blow your mind

This imaginative, abstract photo of Blazers first round pick Jerryd Bayless has us wondering what direction the NBA is headed with these publicity shots. They've certainly taken it up a notch here in terms of creativity and certainly have us...

Brandon Jennings: Go to Europe Young Man

Mere mortals do not attempt to do the things that Brandon Jennings does. People like you and I do not use our 40 inch vertical to sail upwards towards a metal rim only to jam a leather ball through it, smile, and return to Earth.

We don't have the balls to adopt a 1989 haircut for our first excursion into the limelight (if we get a piece of the limelight at all). And most of us, will never be important enough for the NCAA to care about us.

The few people lucky enough to draw ...

Post-Draft Rumblings and Bumblings

A Daily Babble Production

Whoa. How we suddenly became five days removed from the NBA draft so quickly, I'll never know. It seems like it's absolutely flown by (which means five fewer days until opening day of next season!), but we at the NBA page have been so enraptured with chronicling the experiences of draft night itself (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=3499 Itemid=260) and scouting the Celtics' picks (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=3503 Itemid=260) t...

Who the Suns should have picked up instead of Lopez

Sure Robin Lopez could turn into a great NBA player but after waiting four years for the Suns to cash in the Atlanta pick it was quite anticlimactic. In a draft that touted such talent as OJ Mayo, Derrick Rose, Jerryd Bayless and others the Suns came away with a "defensive minded" player [...]

NBA Draft Links Leading Up To The First Pick

Reminding all of you in the Chicago area to listen in on my interview with The Region Buzz Sports Show (1230AM WJOB) at 6 p.m. CST. For everyone else, make sure to check it out when it is eventually posted up here. Now on to the NBA Draft Day links:

    * Derrick Rose is going to Chicago. The city of Chicago is already preparing for tomorow. No link necessary.
    * Darren Rovell thinks that he has influence in the nickname department. If so, then I think he should tell O.J. Mayo to heavily consider using the name, "The Mayo Clinic" [You Pick The Nickname For O.J. Mayo]. It is so damn goofy, that it may just work. I am not sure that Nike will approve; however, after the company officially inked the one time Trojan to a 4-year deal.
    * Is Joe Alexander more marketable than Mr. Mayo? He has the advantage of growing up in the Far East and being fluent in Mandarin. He may be one of the few players in this draft actually hoping to get picked by the Milwaukee Bucks.
    * On second thought, maybe Joe is not as marketable in Milwaukee if this trade between the Bucks and Nets is true

Where Michael Beasley won't Play

If I am Michael Beasley I would have a chip on my shoulder from all the mock-ery drafts being published. The lastest comes from HoopsWorld (this is Mock Draft version 3.0 for them) where they place Jerryd Bayless at the 2nd pick in the NBA draft.

ASU Ranked #22 - But are they overrated? (poll)

Well, the rankings have come in and ASU is deservedly ranked #22 in the AP Poll and #25 in the ESPN/USAToday Poll. The Devils made a statement on Wed night as discussed in our recent Wildcats Midseason Roundtable. But the Wildcats were playing without their best player - freshman, Jerryd Bayless. The Wildcats have an RPI of 9 in the nation. The Devils: 68. The big question for me now is:

Are the Sun Devils overrated? (click below to vote)
