Indianapolis Colts RB Donald Brown inactive for Sunday’s game against Houston Texans

The Indianapolis Colts will be without RB Donald Brown for at least another week.
Brown, the Colts’ first-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, was one of eight players made inactive shortly before kickoff of the Colts’ game Sunday against the Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts’ other game-day inactives:

The Colts have had a numbing week in terms of bodies lost with SLB Tyjuan Hagler (biceps), CB Marlin Jackson (knee) and S Bob Sanders (biceps) being lost for the season.
The customary Saturday offering has a few more names on the injury report and the same No. 1.

INJURY REPORT

OUT

WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee), CB Marlin Jackson (knee), K Adam Vinatieri (knee) -- I expect Gonzo and Jackson to practice next week. Gonzo might not be ready until New England, but a lot will depend upon how he works out. Jackson has said he would be back for the Houston game. Vinatieri actually walked through the locker room the other day and I said hello. He seemed in good spirit...

INJURY REPORT

OUT

WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee), CB Marlin Jackson (knee), K Adam Vinatieri (knee) -- Both are probably a couple weeks away at the earliest. Not sure on Gonzo, but that's what Jackson has said about his status. No updates on Vinatieri, who had surgery. We won't start asking about him until December.

QUESTIONABLE

Looks like Indianapolis will be without kicker Adam Vinatieri for about six weeks -- or five games with the bye -- due to knee surgery.

Colts working out Matt Stover, possible concerns over Adam Vinatieri's knee

All kinds of speculation are swirling around the Colts complex at West 56th Street today concerning Adam Vinatieri. We saw Adam Shefter on the Monday Night Football pre-game show last night say the Colts are having Vinatieri's knee re-examined after Indy's 31-9 victory over the Tennessee Titans. I can't find any link to this story on ESPN.com, and Shefter's Twitter page seems to make no mention of this.
What does seem fairly certain is the Colts are bringing in veteran ki...

Vinatieri's two cents

Some fans have expressed concern about kicker Adam Vinatieri and questioned if the 36-year-old kicker is getting up there in years after his 32-yard miss off the left upright on Sunday. He also had a kick bank in off the left upright at Miami.

While it would be an easy rationalization to say Vinatieri is dealing with a rookie holder in Pat McAfee and it takes some experience to get their timing down, I like that Vinatieri was a team player when he discussed his situation on Thursday.
