The Eagles defense dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday. After a rough game last week, Jim Johnson devised a terrific scheme to stifle the Steelers offense. Johnson dialed up the blitz all game long, and it was extremely effective. The "D" notched 9 sacks, forced two fumbles, intercepted a pass, shut down the Steelers ground game, [...]

We'll Give Him Back...

...In a couple years. The Bears are making off-season moves left and right. Further analysis brings to mind an odd Phenomenon in Chicago. Mainly the apparent obsession of GM Jerry Angelo to borrow players from other NFL Teams. Former Buc/Bear Griese traded to the Bucs, former Panther/Bear Muhsin Mahammad signs with the Panthers. What's next Archuletta back in Washington? Darwin Walker back in Philly. Thank God they drafted Rex Grossman and don't have to worry about Angelo trading him away.

Takeo Spikes To Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles just improved their defense by adding Takeo Spikes of the Buffalo Bills. To get the outside linebacker, the Eagles traded away defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a 2008 draft pick.

This move brings even more speed and power to an already good defense. Spikes will fit in well playing between Jeremiah Trotter and Omar Gaither.

Eagles' Defensive Line Bringing the Heat

Get perspective from the Eagles' official website concerning the performance of the D-Line in their 30-24 OT loss against the Giants on Sunday.

They got 8 total sacks, even after the Giants made some key coverage and blocking adjustments for the second half. They recorded 5 in the first half and added 3 in the second.

The Eagles are not as bad as everyone seemed to think at the beginning of the season. Let's not mince words, they collapsed at the end of yesterday's game, but they could very easily be 2-0 right now. Their defense is still solid and their offense is showing signs of fertility.

They'll hold out through the season... a serious contender in the NFC East.
