Source: Braves sign RHP Kameron Loe to minor league deal

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a minor league deal with RHP Kameron Loe, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. He will report to Triple-A Gwinnett. Loe, 31, has had an interesting 2013 season with the Mariners and Cubs. After signing with Seattle in February, he appeared in four games (1-1, 10.80 ERA) with the Mariners before being designated for assignment on April 11th. Three days later, Loe was claimed by the Cubs and appeared in seven games for them (0-0, 5.40 ERA) before they designated him for assignment on May 6th. After clearing waivers, Loe refused an outright assignment to AAA Iowa and became a free agent, winding up with the Braves after a day of free agency. In 11 games in 2013 (15.0 innings pitched), Loe has posted a 1-1 record and 7.80 ERA while giving up nine home runs. A 20th round pick of the Texas Rangers in the 2002 draft, Loe has spent time in the majors with the Rangers (2004-2008), Brewers (2010-2012), Mariners (2013), and Cubs (2013). After...

Kameron Loe elects for free agency

Kameron Loe has elected for free agency after clearing waivers.
Loe cleared waivers after the Cubs designated him for assignment, but the right hander will look for a job elsewhere rather then head to Triple-A.
In eight of Loe’s 11 appearances he has allowed a run.
This season Loe had appeared in 11 games compiling a 7.80 ERA and a 1.87 WHIP.

Kameron Keeps the Ball Loe

The Mariners extended a rather low-profile non-roster invitation to veteran right-handed reliever Kameron Loe before Spring Training got underway this year. He has performed great so far in Peoria, but it is his past track record that really intrigued Seattle. We show you why that is and what Loe offers that the rest of the Seattle bullpen doesn’t inside.

Kam Loe Signs with Mariners

Tuesday brings a report that former Brewers reliever Kameron Loe has signed a minor-league deal with the Seattle Mariners, and there are indications that he’s already in camp with the team. Loe was plucked out of semi-obscurity by Brewers GM Doug Melvin back in 2010 and posted decent, if inconsistent, innings for the Brewers. The right-hander intimidated on the mound with his huge six-feet, eight-inch frame and power sinker. When he was on, he seemed to mow through batters without a problem. That’s the way I’ll choose to remember Loe. He was a guy that proved to be a convenient scapegoat, but his .363 average ERA over three seasons with the Brewers and ability to be a rubber arm out of the bullpen eating up innings were valuable. Perhaps if he’d been used better, or performed a little more consistently, he’d still be in Brew City. Good luck in Seattle, Mr. Loe.

The Milwaukee Brewers continue to take the initial steps in rebuilding their shaky bullpen from a year ago.The club announced Thursday that reliever Kameron Loe has refused an assignment to Triple-A and will become a free agent. This comes a day after the Brewers parted ways with reliever Jose Veras. In additional roster shuffling, first baseman Travis Ishikawa was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville where he will likely elect free agency, outfielder Nyjer Morgan refused his assignment and became a free agent and the Brewers claimed right-handed reliever Arcenio Leon off waivers from Houston. Loe, 31, spent three seasons with the Brewers, but had his worst season in a Milwaukee uniform in 2012. Appearing in 70 games, Loe posted a 6-5 record with a 4.61 earned run average and a 1.43 WHIP. In his three seasons, Loe appeared in 195 games with a 3.67 ERA in 198 23 innings for the Brewers.Arbitration eligible this offseason, Loe was projected to get 2.6 million in arbitration.
MILWAUKEE Milwaukee Brewers reliever Kameron Loe knew he could always count on hearing his grandfather's voice at his baseball games. From little league through his college days as a pitcher at Cal State-Northridge, Loe's grandfather Howard Pound would always be there, always delivering his typical cheer from within the crowd.

"Hubba, hubba!" Pound would yell from the stands. Loe still isn't exactly sure why he said that particular phrase Pound had explained to him that he learned it in the military as a sort of rallying cry but no matter what, Loe could count on hearing his grandfather's voice yelling from the stands, game in and game out.

And even as Pound grew older and Loe's baseball career took him from Texas to Japan and finally to Milwaukee each destination thousands of miles away from Pound, who lived in California his grandfather would still yell that same phrase at the television, doing his best to will Loe to a successful outing.

Brewers hope Loe, Veras can solve relief issue

PHOENIX Talk about the Milwaukee Brewers' bullpen and the conversation will undoubtedly focus on right-handers Francisco Rodriguez and John Axford.

Last season, after Rodriguez was acquired the night of the All-Star game to set up for Axford, the back end of Milwaukee's bullpen was perhaps the best eighth and ninth inning combination in all of baseball.

With a top-flight starting rotation that regularly worked deep into games, the K-RodAxford combination effectively shortened games into seven-inning affairs. But on the rare occasion when a starter couldn't work deep, manager Ron Roenicke had the luxury of turning the ball over to some fairly effective middle relievers.

Milwaukee's bullpen ranked among the league leaders in several categories including WHIP (2nd, 1.22), ERA (5th, 3.32) and saves (5th, 47). They were near the bottom in total innings pitched (449.2), earned runs (166), losses 23) and hits (410).

Those numbers become even more impressive when taking into account the fact that
