I was thinking about our good buddy Braden Looper and the 2010 Brewers in general. Even though it would cost us $1 million to un-invite him back for 2010 (the mutual option is not a free option, thanks Doug), I think it's safe to say that most people around these parts would prefer to be Looper-free next season. Although that might seem obvious to us, given the lack of feasible options on the free agent market, I think Doug Melvin is seriously toying with bringing him back...

Looper Still Drawing Interest

Free agent righty Braden Looper is still drawing interest, despite the slow moving market. While the Orioles remain his most aggressive suitor, Looper is waiting on other pitchers, which some sources say is a sign that he does not want to pitch in Baltimore. However, one executive believes that the Dodgers will sign Wolf, forcing Looper back to Baltimore.
We'll see if another team emerges for Looper, who went 12-14 with a 4.16 ERA in thirty-three games for the Cardinals last season. The Mariners, Brewers, and Padres, among others, could be players for his services.
