Blackout deadline approaches for Bengals; Chad isn't sensitive to how the Ravens feel

Like the other two times the Bengals were granted television extensions, we'll be waiting anxiously to see if the Bengals sellout Sunday, or if we're forced to listen to the radio and day dream of our boys in Lord of the Rings garb -- Andrew Whitworth is Sam, Carson Palmer is Frodo and Ray Lewis is Gollum. If it's like before, we'll get bits and pieces of information preceding a mid-afternoon announcement. So bit and piece #1: C Trent got a tweet that someone is going to t...

Bengals will hold a conference call Wednesday night for Bengals fans

Between 6:30 and 7:30 PM (Eastern) on Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bengals will be hosting a Fan Forum, where "you'll even have an opportunity to ask questions and voice comments to your team!" Former Bengals kicker Jim Breech will host the conference call which, we gather, is an attempt to get Bengals fans to purchase tickets for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans which, at last report, is looking very likely to not sellout.
Along with Breech, Bengals head coach Mar...

Fans of the Cincinnati Bengals might have been expected to kvetch about the news that top pick Andre Smith is being installed at right tackle in spring camps.
Monday Morning Hangover: OTAs on Deck

The Cincinnati Bengals have their first (voluntary) on-field workout of the offseason tomorrow, and the word is that first-round pick Andre Smith will be installed at right tackle while left guard Andrew Whitworth slides out to left tackle. This isn’t particularly surprising, as the move has been telegraphed by bengals.com for several weeks. The only [...]

Bengals Draft Preview: Offensive Line

Coming off a season in which the Bengals allowed 51 sacks (3rd most in the league) and average just 3.6 yards per carry (30th in the league) it is easy to conclude the Bengals offensive line is its biggest off-season need. Adding to the troubles is the team's persistent failure to develop its offensive line talent as Bengals linemen have a strange tendency to regress after strong 1st (and sometimes 2nd) seasons. Center is the most glaring need on the offensive line as the team's cen...

John Henderson tries the eye gouge on Andrew Whitworth

So we now know that the Jacksonville Jaguars John Henderson likes to play and fight dirty. In yesterday's loss to the then win-less Bengals, Henderson got into an altercation with Cincinnati lineman Andrew Whitworth. Instead of, I don't know handling like a man, he goes and tries to gouge out the eyes of Whitworth. Pretty scary watching a 6? 7?, 300 pound man trying to do that to another human being.

I guess when you have a pregame ritual like this, you don;t know what to expect.
