Ever since I have been following the draft, the St. Louis Rams have had a lot of difficulty finding success in selecting defensive linemen. Defensive tackles in particular have been difficult, with names that make fans cringe like Claude Wroten, Ryan Pickett, Damione L...

Mike Lombardi's Diner Morning News: What the Cuts Mean

National Football Post

QUOTE: “I think continually of those who were truly great. Who, from the womb, remembered the soul's history...The names of those who in their lives fought for life. Who wore at their hearts the fire's center. Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun. And left the vivid air signed with their honor.” —Stephen Spender

Klopfenstein Among Four Released By Rams Tuesday Morning

To all you Joe Klopfenstein fans out there, if there are any left, I hate to say I told you so.
The former second-round pick out of Colorado in 2006 was one of four players released by the St. Louis Rams Tuesday morning. The other three were Jarrett Byers, an undrafted free agent rookie wide receiver from Northeastern State in Oklahoma, free agent rookie center Daniel Sanders of Colorado, and Marcus Brown, a cornerback from McNeese State, a second-year player who spent last year on Cincinnati...

St. Louis Rams (Ramblin Fan)

Team MVP: Steven Jackson - Have you heard of Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson? These are all NFL running backs that had career years while Al Saunders was their teams offensive coordinator. There is no doubt that Steven Jackson will be the player that makes this team tick in 2008. Jackson is going to have a monster year, and everything is going to revolve around him. Jackson will be the focal point of the media and fans alike. Love him or hate him he is one of the top 5 running...

St. Louis Rams Claude Wroten Suspended For 2008 Season

Claude Wroten was suspended Wednesday for the entire 2008 NFL season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy again. I don’t think anyone is really surprised by this. I for one am glad that we got this out of the way early. Now we know we will not be able to rotate Wroten in on [...]

Wroten Donezo

Well, when I penned my first piece for Ramsgab, I expected to be proved wrong eventually, but I didn't think it would be on my first day. Just hours after I wrote that Rams DT Claude Wroten is someone to watch in training camp, Profootballtalk reports that he will be doing a lot more watching. Wroten it is reported has been suspended for the season for a violation of the substance abuse policy. It is safe to say that his time as a member of the Rams is over.
So ends the short career of a guy who had the talent to be a good player, but blew it. His loss means that the Rams may go to the scrap heap to sign a guy for depth in training camp.

Get Donald Trump in the Rams' front office

Now that the Rams' season is over, we can examine which players didn't quite live up to expectations. Release them, trade them, do whatever, but these guys should no longer be suiting up in the blue-and-gold. Mr. Trump, if you would: "You're fired!"

The 1962 Rams are off the hook

The 1962 Los Angeles Rams are now off the hook as the 0-7 St Louis Rams are now officially off to the worst start in franchise history.

This week the Rams started Marc Bulger at QB to provide a spark, but the only thing Bulger ended up providing was excellent field position for the Seahawks. Bulger was 21/40 for 225 yards on the day, with 2 fumbles and 3 interceptions. With Bulger's poor performance and the less than stellar effort put forth by the coverage units of the special teams, the Seahawks' average starting field position was their own 41 yard line. Too much to ask of a defense that has the added responsibility of playing from behind much of the time anyway.
