With Season Over, Acie Inks Himself 'Lords Favorite'

I'm always curious how professional athletes spend their offseasons, particularly after somewhat embarrassing early playoff exits. Well, now I know. And I would be completely remiss if I didn't share such pearls of wisdom with you fine people. Following their Super Bowl victories, Peyton Manning and other former MVPs happily declare they're going to Disney World. Once bounced from the playoffs, Acie Law heads to teammate Marvin Williams' crib, where they invite over a few buddies and bring in a tattoo artist and hit up some fresh ink home-delivery style. Now, you know.
Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against a little ink. I am just of the opinion that the tattoo trend among pro athletes has taken a recent turn toward to the ridiculous. The Denver Nuggets, who have my undying support to come out of the West, boast a roster so chuck full of body art its befitting of an exhibit at the Louvre. Some of these guys are painted up more than the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. How the heck is anyone supposed to pull any sort of meaning from any of these marks when you can barely decipher anything because you can't tell what part of the body isn't inked?

Which brings us back to our man, Acie. I was a big fan of Law at A&M and still think he might be able to do some things in the League. He's a big fan of the ink. His first blog on Yardbarker was hyping up his latest addition back in 2008, and his most recent post touts his newest "features." Forgive me for not being as up-to-date on Law's tatt history, but my guess is that the 'Lords Favorite' is part of the new additions.

My question? What the hell does that mean? Is Acie Law the chosen one? How does he know he's the Lords Favorite? Is Lawman wearing a religious crown? And, most importantly, the question that's been bothering me most of all. If Acie Law really is the Lords Favorite, don't you think the big guy upstairs knows how to use a possessive? Lord's favorite, Acie. Show some respect, use an apostrophe.

We lost in 4- 0 series to Cleveland last nite. It was a good season, and a good playoff run. Well, today is my 1st day of the offseason for me... Feels a little weird today waking up having to do nothing.. I'm getting ready to return to my hometown of Dallas, TX in a few days... Today, I'm just chillin with my homies and at my teammate house (Marvin Williams), but the summer really starts. Marv got the tattoo artist at his house, just doing tatts for all the homies ( Big Norm, Scout, Jawan) I'm getting my cross on my arm which I already had touched up and add some more features to it.... Sunday, my teammates Marvin Williams, Mario West, and myself had event called Kicks and Flicks. We took about 80 kids to the movies to watch Madagascar2. All the kids had popcorn, soda, and a bag of skittles, and then they just laughed and enjoyed the movie. After the movie we took them to dinner to one of the near by restaurants. We served them hot dogs, burgers, chips, soda, with dessert. During that time we all interacted with the kids, talk and got personal with them to build a relationship. Every child got a pair of shoes, autographs and pictures from us for the holidays. I really enjoy hanging out with the kids; as long as I can put a smile on their faces I'm happy.

Yo Yo!!! I'm back like I left my keys yard FAM. Just now finishing practice needed it today after last nights performance practice was at 10 I was here at 830 with Mark Price working on my game. He going be real big for me this yr he had a great career and he knows so much and I soak it all in whatever he has to tell me about what I can do to become a better player. Back to last nights game I didn't play how I've been playing the rest of the preseason I couldn't get into a flow out there. Enough about last night in this league u can't dwell on games good or bad because there are so many and in our case we got Detroit on thurs so I get another opportunity to bounce back and get back on track to how I've been playing. I'm in the lounge area now chillin watching our team play their ping pong tournament. I think I'm the only one on the team that's not involved I suck at it. They take it so serious to they got a 16 man double elimination bracket and the winner gets a trophy and everything, rite now J Smoove (Josh Smith) is getting the brakes beat off his ass. I personally think Marvin Williams will win the tourney, he won last yr and he's not showing any mercy on anybody. I wish they would have a Madden tournament on XBOX 360, so I can get lose on the whole team real rite quick ya dig?!?!? I'm going to play Mike Bibby, put them cowboys on him, and show him why we they best team in the league. I know yall are going comment on our performance these past few weeks but we going get it together and get back on track believe that. Romo need a couple weeks to get healthy, Pacman gone a few for rehab but when our DB's get back from injury and we all back on the same page. STOP THE PRESS!!! WAIT!!!!! HOLD ON...LET ME CATCH MY BREATH... Mike Bibby is old news now 17- 0 1st quarter, he threw 3 picks beggin me to finish the game. I'm like "Wut the hell for I'm wastin time playin that game." I didn't even have my cowboys; I went with the New Orleans Saints and got busy. I would have had some pics, but u know how cats are when they losing so ima have to sneak and hide a camera or something for the future so yall can see how I get down.

It's official everyone...game one of the Eastern Conference Finals starts today. This has been one amazing year for us. We made it through the regular season and finished with the best record in the league. We've made it through two rounds of the playoffs, and it feels great. All we have to do now is stay focused on the prize and win. The Cleveland series was a tough one. It was similar to and different from the Atlanta series. It was similar because both teams had guys that could score on any given night. With Atlanta, it was Marvin Williams, Joe Johnson, Josh Childress, etc. With Cleveland, it was Delonte West, Z, Wally, etc. With Cleveland, we not only had to try to contain LeBron, but we also had to try to keep the other guys from putting up numbers on us. There were many differences between the Atlanta and Cleveland series, but I think the most obvious one was LeBron. Having a LeBron James on your team makes a big difference. As a team, we had to make sure that we played intense, aggressive defense. We knew that it was our defense that was going to win us games. In the end, we pulled it off, and now we're moving on to Detroit. I just want to give a big thanks to all of our fans. Without your support, I'm telling you that we would not be where we are. Thanks! Right now, I'm home. I just got back from shoot around. I'm about to lay it down as usual. I have to get my nap in. This Detroit series is going to be tough. Detroit is a great team, and they play extremely well together. As a team, we must stay focused and play intensely and aggressively. Keep cheering for us yall....I'll holla!

In Cleveland...getting ready to go to bed...thought I would drop yall a few lines. I haven't done much today. We had practice and a film session earlier today, and after that I went to Hard Rock Cafe and ate. They have the best spinach dip! After eating, I spent some time with my cousins. They came up here from Louisville to see the games, so I chilled with them a little bit. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. My mom is in Boston. I set up a little surprise for her and my girl for Mother's Day. It was nice, and they really liked it. I wanted them to do something special even though I wasn't there. O...and my daughter is finally crawling. We're all excited about that. I'm about to lay it down now. I have to bring it tomorrow, so I need to get some rest. Keep cheering for us, and hopefully we will get this W tomorrow. I'll holla! O..one last thing. I was reading a lot of the comments that were posted about the Marvin Williams foul, and I just wanted to let everyone know that Marvin and I are coo. He didn't mean to hurt me, and there are no hard feelings. Marvin is my homie, and I'm doing fine..my back is ok. Thanks for being concerned though!
