The Brandon Wood experiment put on hold

Ask any fan of the Los Angeles Angels and they will quickly tell you that Brandon Wood should be starting everyday, whether at shortstop, third base, or even designated hitter. But unfortuntaely for the many of us, who seek freedom for Brandon Wood, the Angels organization, particularily Mike Scioscia, does not see it that way.

Angels promote Wood

With Vlad Guerrero out of action for the foreseeable future the Los Angeles Angels have turned their sights to Brandon Wood as a possible solution to an offense in search of some pop.
Thus far the Angels have combined for 8 homers this season though 4 have come off the bat of Torii Hunter. Over the [...]

Musings on Brandon Wood

Why is Brandon Wood not a candidate for first base? For some reason, I never hear this mentioned. I guess it?s because Kendry Morales is a switch hitter, so there?s really no need to platoon him, but Wood seems a good fit so long as the Angels have four other players battling for the jobs [...]

Angels Shortstop - "none of the above"

By Kevin Mark - Angelswin.com Columnist

Questions began about the Angels 2008 shortstop situation seconds after it was announced that Gold Glove shortstop Orlando Cabrera had been traded to the White Sox. Whether the Cabrera for Garland trade was good for the Angels has been discussed over and over and there is no need to rehash it again. The trade has been made and the Angels now must decide who will man the position in 2008. I don't see Brandon Wood as being a viable candidate for th...

Offer to Angels on the table

By Chuck Richter -Senior Editor Angelswin.com

Read into this as little or as much as you want. I was told by my sources that the Orioles have an offer into the Angels that would net them Brandon Wood and Joe Saunders for their best player, Miguel Tejada. The ball is in the Angels court. The winter meetings are ahead and while the Angels 1st option is the other Miguel from Florida, the team has other options in place, unlike last offseason.
