Adam Bostick came into his own this season as a reliever, the 26 y/o lefty has been considered a disappointment as a starter to the extent the Mets removed him from their 40 man roster and were still able to retain him when no one else was interested.Overall he's made 123 starts of 176 appearances with a 4.36 ERA through all levels of the minors. In AAA over four seasons he has an ERA of 5.17 with a 9-14 record. But this year he went to the pen full time and posted a 3.28 ERA in 27 appear...

On Sept. 1st teams could expand their active rosters to include the entire 40man roster. Since then the Mets have gone two players over 25 men with the return of David Wright and the call-up of Josh Thole.They currently have 44 players on the the roster but five players are on the 60 day DL, leaving them one roster spot. I remember distinctly when the Mets traded a couple relievers, one with injury concerns and the other suddenly found extra MPH on his fastball in his late 20's, the diamond in the rough of the deal was suppose to be Adam Bostick.The Mets acquired two lefties and gave up two righties that they had concerns about, but while the righties went on to contribute for Marlins neither lefty produced for the Mets. RHP Nelson Figueroa, who was 3-3 with a 4.57 ERA for the New York Mets last year, was one of four minor league free agents who signed with the club today. According to rotoworld the Mets have sent RHP Nelson Figueroa, LHP Adam Bostick and C Gustovo Molina outright to AAA Buffalo. The three will now become minor league free agents and will have the opportunity to re-sign on minor league contracts or test free agency.
