We're Going Streaking! Derek Lee a rare bright spot for Cubs

Big League Stew goes through the quad and into the
gymnasium to look at some of the hottest players in baseball and their
chances of keeping it going. Derrek Lee(notes), Chicago CubsThe Naked Truth: .307/.391/.586, 33 HR, 101 RBI (through Monday's games)Having a nice little Saturday:
Not many things went right in the North Side of Chicago this summer,
but Derrek Lee's comeback year was certainly one of them. He has hit 30
homers for the first time since his 2005 breakout (and April 2...

New Cubs Owners Will Probably Fix That

The Chicago Cubs are officially sold (finally) to the Ricketts family. Meanwhile, Derek Lee's helmet becomes a metaphor of a fading season. Even the logo can't hold its head up high. [WSJ/The CMSB]

Fantasy Links of the Weekend

Before the holiday weekend kicks into full gear, I've found enough fantasy links to compile a shortened Links list to help you get through the weekend. Closer Links:Pecking Order. It's broken into "Risks," closers who could lose their jobs if traded and "Rewards," relievers who might get some saves in struggling bullpens. Hitter Links:Chicago's Derek Lee and Geovany Soto are good fantasy players again. Injury Links:KFFL's updated Injury News.Prospect Links:...

Cubs Fan Passes Young Son A Beer At Wrigley

What the heck is up with kids and beer over the past few days? Now we don't know for sure if this a cerveza or not, but I'm with HRD....I think we can say this kid is throwing one back during the Cubs-Giants game yesterday. Watch closely behind the dugout after Derek Lee records the second out of the inning.... Sorry for the choppiness, but I thought the slo mo at the end got the job done. I guess it could have been a lemonade and the ice melted, but that sure looks like an Old Style...

VIDEO: Footage Of Chris Young And Derek lee Getting Catty

I have to say, intentional or not, I'm with Derek Lee on this one. Anytime you nearly get blasted in the face with a pitch, I think it's fair game to charge the mound. That being said, what a sorry attempt at a punch from both Lee and Young. They both whiffed pretty bad; maybe they'd be better off going for the Ric Flair chop on each other.

Derrek Lee done for the season to be with his daughter

Lee's 3-year old daughter Jada has inexplicably lost vision in one of her eyes. He was tearful when discussing the situation with reporters saying that she needs a 'miracle.' He's told the Cubs he won't be back this season.

It's been a tough year for Derek Lee.
