      <title>Giants Acquire Marco Scutaro</title>
      <description>Tonight the Giants finalized a deal to bolster their middle infield, acquiring veteran infielder Marco Scutaro, first reported by Troy Renck of the Denver Post. Both teams announced the deal on their twitter account. 
Scutaro is in the final year of his contract, and has hit .271/.324/.359 with a 27:35 BB:K. For his career he has hit .270/.337/.386 while spending time at 2B, SS, and 3B.
Culberson came into the year ranked as the Giants #11 prospect by Baseball America. He got his first cup of coffee in the majors this year, and went for 3/22. He was initially drafted in 2007, the final year before John Barr took over. He is the third member of that draft class to be traded, as Tim Alderson and Daniel Turpen were traded in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Like Culberson, Alderson was traded for a middle infielder in the final year of his contract (though Freddy Sanchez had a clup option), while Turpen was traded for Ramon Ramirez.

      <title>Farm Report: Black Monday &#8211; All Four Teams Go Down In Defeat</title>

With the game tied in the top of the ninth inning Monday night, LHP Josh Edgin allowed two Indianapolis runs to score, and the Bisons dropped their second straight game to the Indians, 8-6.
Edgin (1-2, 5.40) took the loss, going one inning and allowing one hit and two runs.
LHP Garret Olson started the game for Buffalo. He went four innings, allowed seven hits, five runs and walked three while striking out five. His ERA stands at 4.24.
The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. 1B Jeff Clement led the inning off with a double and later scored on a C Jose Morales single. SS Jordy Mercer later scored on a 2B Anderson Hernandez single.
In the bottom of the third inning, however, Buffalo&#8217;s bats came alive. SS Omar Quintanilla led the inning off with a solo homer to right center-field. Quintanilla finished the game 1-for-3 and is hitting .278.

      <title>Indians Acquire Kevin Slowey From Rockies</title>
      <description>The Cleveland Indians have acquired Kevin Slowey from the Rockies in exchange for Zach Putnam and cash according to a tweet by Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports.
Slowey, 27, is a career 39-29 and a 4.66 ERA in 100 career appearances all for the Minnesota Twins. He was previously traded to the Rockies this off-season in exchange for RHP Daniel Turpen.
Putnam, 24, was 1-1 with a 6.14 ERA in 8 appearances last season. He also made his Major League debut last year.

Considering the signings of role-playing veteran free agents Jamey Carroll and Ryan Doumit, the retention of closer Matt Capps and the pursuit of outfielder of Michael Cuddyer, general manager Terry Ryan and the rest of the organization clearly haven't given up on returning to playoff contention in 2012.

      <description>The Twins have announced right-handed pitcher Daniel Turpen is the player acquired in their recent trade with Colorado that sent pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Rockies. 

Turpen, 25, went 2-4, 4.83 ERA (59.2 IP, 32 ER) with 11 saves, allowing 35 walks with 33 strikeouts in 48 appearances with Double-A Tulsa last season. He has a career record of 18-16, 3.25 ERA (298.2 IP, 108 ER) with 28 saves, allowing 116 walks with 231 strikeouts in 204 appearances. Turpen will be assigned to Triple-A Rochesters roster.</description>
