Digit system speeds Crabtree's learning

But the idea behind the digit system is pretty straight forward. For instance, offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye this week made reference to Crabtree knowing what he's supposed to do on a play called "525 F-Post." Heck, even I know that Crabtree runs a "comeback" route on that play. I have no idea on which side he lines up, if anybody goes in motion, the depth of his route or any of that. But I know the X runs a 5 (comeback), the Y runs a 2 (slant), the Z runs a...

Allowing Old Man Norris to rush for fifteen yards is angering, but don't direct your anger at Aaron Curry.

Seattle Seahawks 3 San Francisco 49ers 13

San Francisco starts on the Seahawks 43 and turn that field position into three quick points. Moran Norris blasts through the middle for fifteen then the drive stalled. Seattle's rush defense is barely holding on. The Seahawks need a productive drive to, if nothing else, slow the 49ers rushing attack. With a two score lead and consistently good field position, it would be foolish for San Francisco not to run up the middle until Seattle proves it can stop them.

Golden Nuggets: Move over Norris and Keasey? HAH!

Good morning folks. James here with your Nuggets for the day. A bit of... carelessness on my part yesterday, I completely forgot to do the links. Didn't even cross my mind, sorry everyone! We had a few links, too... Any way, I'll post the links that should have been posted yesterday along with what I should be posting today. Still, there's not a lot but there's enough to tide you over until the next edition (I hope.) Of interest is mainly the article on Alex Boone, did any...

See Ya Keasey

The 49ers have claimed undrafted linebacker Brit Miller off of waivers from Carolina. You may be asking why they claimed another linebacker when they have lots, well it looks like Miller is slated to play fullback, which means Zac Keasey is gone. Well Zac was already gone once Moran Norris came back but with the [...]

Where Norris goes, Gore will follow

Frank Gore wanted his fullback's attention. "Big Mo," he hollered across the 49ers' practice field Monday, as Moran Norris finished up some extracurricular drills by catching passes. Gore had been explaining his friendship with Norris to a reporter, and he...

49ers To Add A Fullback During The Offseason?

From: Sacramento Bee
When asked Wednesday which positions the 49ers would try to beef up in the offseason, Head Coach Mike Singletary cited quarterback, offensive tackle, pass rusher and safety. He didn?t mention ?fullback,? but after talking about his power-rushing philosophy for most of the press conference, he probably didn?t need to. The 49ers played most [...]

Smith has set career highs for carries and rushing yards two weeks in a row. He had 24 carries for 112 yards Sunday at the Carolina Panthers. New quarterback Daunte Culpepper is sustaining drives, leading to more carries, and new fullback Moran Norris is opening holes, leading to [...]
