<title>Flyers kick off exhibition season with win</title>
<description>The Flyers are back on the ice! It's only preseason, but the Flyers kicked off their exhibition season with a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Monday night. Steve Downie scored a pair of goals for the Flyers, who played the game without most of their star players. In NHL exhibition games, teams only have to suit up a few veteran players, so you won't be seeing much of Danny Briere and Kimmo Timonen, especially early on. Besides Downie, the veteran Flyer players that did play included new captain Mike Richards, forwards Jeff Carter, Scottie Upshall, Scott Hartnell, and Riley Cote along with defensemen Braydon Coburn and Ryan Parent and newcomers Ossi Vaananen and Steve Eminger. Martin Biron also played some of the game in net and rookie Cluade Giroux suited up. Richards and Upshall scored the other two goals for the Flyers and Biron shut out the Devils for two periods. The Flyers next exhibition game is Wednesday against the Senators. It's great to see the Flyers back in action again, I can't wait to see what they can do for an encore this year!

<title>Penguins on verge of sweep after 4-1 Game 3 win over Flyers</title>
<description>The Keystone Clash crossed the state to Philadelphia on Tuesday night, but the game looked very similar to the previous two. The Penguins looked better in nearly every facet of the game, dominating the Flyers 4-1 in Game 3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

The Flyers were over-matched from the beginning when the Penguins got two quick goals in the first 8 minutes. The goals were a bit fluky with the first going in off a Jason Smith's foot and the second coming when Martin Biron was screened, but the Penguins managed to take the Flyers right out of the game. Philly responded with a goal by R.J. Umberger, but from there on they barely challenged Marc-Andre Fleury, finishing with a mere 18 shots. The Penguins sealed the victory with a goal halfway through the third period and an empty netter at the end of regulation.

      <title>Flyers Up 2-1; Montreal in Real Trouble?</title>
<description>After Monday nights 3-2 win over the Habs I really believe now that the Flyers will be headed to the Eastern Conference Finals. If your Montreal right now you've got to be feeling pretty lucky your not down 3-0 on the verge of being swept. I'm not saying Montreal hasn't played well, but some of their positive play has been the result of a break in their favor. Breaks in which they haven't been able to take advantage of with the exception being game 1. They needed some big time breaks to win game 1, got beaten on home ice in game 2 even after coming in with all the moment against a Flyer team that had to of been simply devastated after game 1.</description>
