Gilbert Getting Hitched?

There seems to be an interesting trend settling among star athletes who are recovering from serious injuries. It started with Tom Brady, who is recovering from torn MCL and ACL surgery, shopping around for wedding rings. And now Gilbert Arenas, who is also recovering from knee surgery, has reportedly been proposed to by his fiancee. Glad to hear that in an age where trouble finds young high profile stars in their personal life like Paul Pierce hitting the clubs in Las Vegas, or Shaq making a fool of himself rapping, or the much publicized YouTube rant of Josh Howard, you see a talent like Gilbert being responsible with his time. Staying grounded is the way to go.

Washington Wizards Training Camp Spawns Questions

What is Flip Saunders doing at training camp?

Will the defense really improve?

Should we panic, or be fatalistically concerned (as Bullets fans have a penchant to do) that Antawn Jamison is already "tweaking" and "straining" things?

What is Gilbert Arenas learning about leadership?

Shawn Kemp Out of Italy, Sun Ming Ming in Asia

Shawn Kemp gets released from his Italian squad. Vince Carter thinks the Nets can make the playoffs. Gilbert Arenas talks to the media about not talking to the media. Stephon Marbury needs to shut up. Aaron McKie will sit in the #2 seat next to Mo Cheeks this year. Half man, half Ogre Sun Ming Ming plays in an Asian cup (spoiler alert: he's the tallest human there). Terence Morris leads CSKA into an overtime win against Spartak St. Pete.

Gilbert Skips Media Day...the NBA Fines Him

After skipping preseason media day the NBA decided to fine both Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards $15,000 apeice. Gilbert skipping out left a few questions in my head:
1.)Why would you fine someone with an $111 million contract only $15,000?
2.)Why did he show up long enough to only take pics?
3.)What will he say when he addresses the media on Saturday?
4.)When will his bum knee fully heal?
5.)Is the pool ready yet?????

But seriously Gilbert needs to get it together...hes one of my favorite players but his damn knee is starting to get on my nerves it just needs to heal and stayed healed!

Baron Davis And His Jenny Craig Sponsorship

Baron Davis is a little bit savvy and a little bit insane, but I think that's what people like about him. He's in that rare-air with the likes of Gilbert Arenas and Steve Nash and doesn't miss an opportunity to get his name out there. Which is why I'm not surprised by his recent endorsement of Jenny Craig. From People via SbB....

First, it was Kirstie Alley. Then Valerie Bertinelli and Queen Latifah. Now, Jenny Craig's got a new famous recruit a?" and it's safe to say he's kind of a big deal.

A really big deal. Baron Davis, the 6' 3" L.A. Clippers guard, is the new man on the Jenny plan, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. Inspired by current spokeswoman Latifah, Davis, 29, started the plan at the beginning of August to get in shape for basketball season.

"I know Queen Latifah, and when I saw her out there using it, I thought maybe I could use it, too, to work on my health and fitness goals and inspire others," he tells PEOPLE.

During the NBA off-season, Davis let his fitness slide. "In the off-season, it's kind of hard to maintain day-to-day," he says. "I don't want to get up and cook. And when I pig out, I'm the type of person where there's no limit to what I can do." His favorite pig-out food? "Definitely Mexican," he says. "I go to Pinches Tacos in L.A., start with a carne asada burrito, and work my way down the menu."
I really don't know why Jenny Craig hasn't targeted men sooner, but this seems like a great idea. Nutri System seems to have cornered the Sports market, but a company as large (no pun intended) as Jenny Craig should definitely look into more opportunities. I mean I don't know how many men would personally admit to being on the program, but get a few more like Baron and you'll be golden.

NBA Star Baron Davis: I'm on Jenny Craig! (People)
Ballooning Baron Davis: "I'm On Jenny Craig!" (Sports by Brooks)
