Rockets sign free agent Barry

HOUSTON (AP)—The Houston Rockets signed free agent Brent Barry to a two-year contract on Thursday, making him the third member of the family to join the franchise.

The 6-foot-7 Barry played 31 games with San Antonio last season and shot 43 percent (48-for-112) from 3-point range. A 13-year veteran, Barry will play for his sixth NBA team after stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics and the Spurs.

Barry's father, Rick, spent two seasons with the Rockets (1978-80) and his older brother, Jon, played for the team from 2004-06.

Barry, 36, was a member of San Antonio's championship teams, in the 2004-05 and 2006-07 seasons.

Among active players, Barry ranks eighth in career 3-point field goal percentage (.407) and sixth in career 3-pointers made (1,346). Barry won the NBA slam dunk contest in 1996. He was the league's most accurate 3-point shooter in 2000-01, making 48 percent (109-of-229).

End of the Week Rumors and Free Agent Updates

There were conflicting reports about James Posey coming out on Thursday. Ric Bucher said that Posey was not returning to Boston. Then, on Hoopsworld, Bill Ingram said that James Posey is expected to announce that he'll re-sign with the Boston Celtics in the next 24 hours. Finally, in the Globe, Marc Spears reports that there is nothing new in regards to Posey's free agency situation. Who to believe? I like Ingram's take on it personally. There is an an article in the News Herald telling us that the Cavs are balking at offering more than 3 years on a contract. The Cavs regretted giving four-year deals to Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones and don't want to make the same mistake, but would have to go to 4 years to have a chance at landing Posey, a hometown favorite there. It was reported that the Celtics upped their offer to 4 years, but that was not confirmed by Danny Ainge.

There were a few signings that just made things official. The Cavs signed their first round draft pick, JJ Hickson who was the 19th pick in the draft. Baron Davis officially signed the contract with the Clippers. Newsday reported that the Knicks were Baron's first choice after he opted out of his contract. He checked with them to see there was interest before signing with the Clippers. There may have been interest, but with almost 94 million in payroll, even before adding Duhon, they definitely didn't have the cap space to give him. The Clippers renounced their rights to free agents Dan Dickau, Shaun Livingston, Boniface Ndong, Smush Parker and James Singleton. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Shaun Livingston. We have taken a chance on several other players with bad knees. He would be worth a look anyway to see what he has after the injury. The Wizards signed Dee Brown to an offer sheet and the Jazz have 7 days to match it although several sources say that they won't match it.

The NBA will start next season without a few players. Darius Miles will be suspended for the first 10 games of the season, and he isn't even on a team right now. That takes talent. The NBA announced today that JamesOn Curry of the Chicago Bulls has been suspended for one game for pleading guilty to resisting or obstructing an officer and public urination. He will miss the first game of the '08-'09 season. The NBA also announced today that Brad Miller of the Sacramento Kings has been suspended for the first five games of the '08-09 season for violating the terms of the NBA Anti-Drug Program.

The Wolves completed their trade with the Sixers and in a report in the Herald (via the Star Tribune), McHale compares Rodney Carney's talents to free agent Kirk Snyder. the article then says that there are reports that Snyder will wind up signing with Boston. This may be a contingency plan if Posey goes elsewhere or it may be just idle rumor.

Brent Barry was traded by the Spurs last season only to be cut right away and go back to the Spurs while teams like the Celtics and Suns waited on his decision. He has now moved on from the Spurs and has signed a 2 year deal with the Rockets. He is the third member of his family to play for the Rockets. Brent's father, Rick, spent two seasons with the Rockets (1978-80) and his older brother, Jon, who is now an NBA broadcaster, played for the team from 2004-06.

The NY Daily News reports that Paul Pierce is playing GM by advising the Knicks to dump Stephon Marbury in their rebuilding plans.

"He makes the biggest contract and he's one of the oldest players on the team," Pierce said yesterday while signing collectibles at Steiner Sports offices in New Rochelle. "That doesn't really fit into a rebuilding plan, just to be honest.

"I'd try to trade him or buy him out at this point," added Pierce, who still believes Marbury can be a starting point guard in the NBA. "I just think he needs a fresh start somewhere else. Marbury needs to be on a veteran team where he fits into what they're trying to do a little bit more."

Uh, I just hope that the veteran team where where he fits into what they are trying to do is not the Celtics. I have never seen Marbury as the ubuntu kind of guy. His entire career he has been a Starbury first kind of player. I do like his efforts to make affordable sneakers for kids, but on the court, he has struck me as a selfish player.

Speaking of Starbury's sneakers, the NY Post reports that in spite of Marbury's tenuous situation with the Knicks and his marketing partner, Steve & Barry's, filing for bankruptcy, his sneaker line will still go on. He just made a deal with Amazon.com to market the sneakers starting with the Christmas marketing season this year. The price is expected to to up from the current 14.98 price, but it doesn't say how much. You can find them now on sale at Steve and Barry's slashed to 8.98 on clearance.

With Ronny Turiaf signing an offer sheet with the Warriors, the Lakers have 7 days to either match the offer or decide to go after another free agent. They have been one of the teams interested in Posey, but as of yet, haven't offered the full MLE 5 year deal that Posey is looking for. Turiaf and Posey share the same agent who seems to be a thorn in the side of the Celtics this off season as he also represents their first round pick JR Giddens who has opted out of the minicamp because they couldn't agree on a contract. The San Francisco Chronicle believes that the Lakers will let Turiaf walk and double their efforts elsewhere (Posey perhaps?)

The Washington Times reports that Etan Thomas will scrimmage with the Wizards summer league team. Thomas missed missed all of last season after undergoing surgery to repair a leaky aortic valve. Thomas received clearance to resume noncontact training in January, but his sternum didn't fully heal in time for him to resume contact drills and return to live action. Now fully cleared, he will scrimmage with the summer league squad. I wish Thomas the best of luck. Ronny Turiaf, discussed above also underwent open heart surgery and has come back to play very well afterwards.

The Toronto Sun reports that Carlos Delfino is on his way out in Toronto. The Raptors are expected to sign newcomers Roko Ukic and Nathan Jawai in the next few days, but veteran guard Carlos Delfino appears to be the odd man out. He is a restricted free agent, but the Raptors are not expected to match any offer he may receive from other clubs. The Spurs and Pistons are reportedly interested.

Philly.com is reporting that Elton Brand had made a verbal commitment to the Clippers to sign a 5 year contract before signing the contract with the Sixers. You can't fault a player for going to a better situation or more money, but, if they break a commitment in the process, it isn't right. Carlos Boozer still carries the stigma of doing the same thing to Cleveland. If it is true, Brand just became a branded man with many fans.

The Star Ledger reports that the Nets are looking at available veterans such as Denver's Marcus Camby and Chicago's Andres Nocioni via trade. They also met with free agent Eduardo Najera and are trying to sell him on a 2 year contract rather than the 3 year deal he is looking for so that they can still have the cap room to go after LeBron or another available star in 2010. Reports are that the Nets are also close to reaching an agreement with Jarvis Hayes.

There have been reports of the Celtics possibly considering Alonzo Mourning as a back up center. Word from the Sun Sentinel is that although Alonzo Mourning still hopes to return from last season's serious knee injury, the Heat center required an additional procedure recently amid his comeback bid. Three sources familiar with Mourning's rehabilitation confirmed the procedure but said the center still could be able to make it back to the court by midseason. After spending a month in a hard cast and another month in a brace, Mourning was told the injury would require at least six additional months of rehabilitation.

So, Who Wants Our MLE?

So, our wish list is slowly accumulating more lines through the middle than a Memorial Day weekend at Cedar Point. No, we really never had a shot at offering any sort of money at the big-named guys; a sign and trade was our only path to the promised land.

But what do we have to offer? Aside from some expiring deals and a crazy-haired master of the running 360, all Danny Ferry has to work with at this juncture is that mid-level offer of approximately $6 million - a nominal amount that is simply burning a hole in the pocket of our collective pants.

The next trick: finding someone who will take said amount. Corey Maggette wouldn't do it. You can bet that Monta Ellis won't be signing up either. Let's face it fans - we're not getting a superstar for "mid-level" money. But who would take it? While there is still a chance that we end up extending the offer to Delonte West or Daniel Gibson, Chad Ford has a list of what he's calling "other notables."

Other notables: Matt Barnes, Warriors; Alonzo Mourning, Heat; Patrick O'Bryant, Warriors; Jason Williams, Heat; Juwan Howard, Mavs; Jarvis Hayes, Pistons; Robert Horry, Spurs; James Jones, Blazers; Michael Finley, Spurs; Jannero Pargo, Hornets; Damon Stoudamire, Spurs; Sam Cassell, Celtics; Jamaal Magloire, Nets; Kareem Rush, Pacers; Gordan Giricek, Suns; Michael Doleac, Timberwolves; Francisco Elson, Oklahoma City; Keyon Dooling, Magic; Quinton Ross, Clippers; Antoine Wright, Mavericks; Fred Jones, Knicks; Juan Dixon, Pistons; Maurice Evans, Magic; Primoz Brezec, Raptors; Anthony Johnson, Kings; Tyronn Lue, Kings; Theo Ratliff, Pistons; Adonal Foyle, Magic; Sebastian Telfair, Timberwolves; Kirk Snyder, Timberwolves.

Pretty, ain't she? You have the "should retire" group of Alonzo Mourning, Theo Ratliff and even Damon Stoudamire. You can sure bet that they would love an MLE deal at this point in their careers. You have the "flashes of brilliance" guys that are good for a few double-digit outings per season; just enough to garner some attention. Those would be the James Jones', Fred Jones' and even the Antione Wrights among others.

The other glaring portion of this is the amount of point guards on the list: Sam Cassell, Jason Williams, Keyon Dooling, Anthony Johnson, Sabastian Telfair and Tyronn Lue. Most of these guys will get offers before the end of the summer, so I expect this list to slowly dwindle down.

But as we aren't exactly in the mix for the Rony Turiafs of the world, we could be looking at some of these guys. Another guy that I've been eying up for the past few days (whom you may or may not like) is Brent Barry (San Antonio). Though he's old and a bit of a tweener, he's seasoned enough to play at the level we need this season, is efficient from all parts of the floor, and is a winner. The answer to all of our prayers? Not in the least. But a viable option? I think so.

Brand to Warriors and other Nba Rumours

Goldenstate fresh off of losing PG Baron Davis has offered Brand a monster contract, a five year deal worth in the 85 to 90 million range, this is substatntially more than the Clippers can offer, approx 20 million.

This move certainly signals that the Warriors must believe that Gilbert Arenas is going to sign and stay in Washington as they had also offered Arenas a max deal.

Gerald Green dunk contest phenom and straight from high school player has signed a one year deal with the Mav's, Gerald has moved around alot and is seen to have Tmac like potential but as yet has come no where close to living up to it.

James Posey is being pursued by Boston, Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit after opting out.

Corey Magette is getting several looks, teams that have contact him include, Orlando, Boston, Utah, San Antonio and Miami, he personally would love to go back to Orlando and the team plans to offer a mult-year deal at their mid-level exception. Other teams may be able to offer Corey a little more money so it will be interesting how this plays out.

Tyronn Lue chose Dallas over Phoenix last year when he was waived by Sacramento; Phoenix wanted the PG then and they want him now, Steve Kerr is trying to get the player signed to backup Nash.

Jarvis Hayes is being pursued by both the Suns and the Spurs; he is thought to have a game much like James Posey, can score, can defend and makes good decisions with the ball.

Chris Duhon, has met with the Knicks and has scheduled a visit with Orlando I'd look for a decision by mid-week.

Brent Barry is high on both the Suns and Lakers free-agency wish lists.

Ron Artest believes he made a mistake not opting out, speaking very candidly on the subject yesterday, I'd look for him to get moved, he has an expiring contract and some value.

Josh Smith is meeting with Philly today to talk about possibly signing there.

Free Agent News

MyFox Houston reports that Gerald Green has agreed to a one year contract with the Dallas Mavericks. I really hope Gerald can make it there. I like Gerald and he has a ton of potential because of his athleticism, but he just never seemed to get it. Maybe Rick Carlisle can finally get him to realize that potential.

ESPN is reporting that Baron Davis has agreed to sign with the Clippers after opting out of his contract with the Warriors on Monday. He gave up $17.8 million in the last year of his deal with the Warriors and will receive a five-year deal worth an estimated $65 million from the Clippers.

According to ESPN Insider, Gilbert Arenas has received max bids from both the Wizards and the Warriors. With Baron gone, the Warriors are in the market for a point guard and can afford to pay for one.

The NY Daily News reports that the Knicks have made an offer to Chris Duhon to shore up their back court. The Knicks are expected to offer Duhon a two-year deal worth roughly half of the mid-level exception, totaling around $6 million. According to SportingNews, after meeting with the Knicks, Duhon went to Orlando to meet with the Magic. He was contacted by five teams on the first day of free agency including Cleveland, Sacramento, New York, Orlando and, surprisingly, Boston.

According to the Press Enterprise, Andrew Bynum is seeking a max contract extension. Hopefully the Lakers are forced to give it to him and will leave James Posey alone.

SacBee has the Kings offering their full MLE to sign Beno Udrih.

As reported in the Herald, the Celtics have made an offer to James Posey and hope to keep him. Posey has said that he wants to stay with the Celtics and the Celtics are saying they want to keep him, but there are also other teams who are going to do their best to lure him away from the champs. Posey's hometown Cleveland Cavaliers are said to be putting together an offer, in addition to the Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. New Jersey, which came close to signing Posey last summer before he was talked into going with the Celtics, also may revisit the situation, though like most teams the Nets are carving out cap space for 2010.

According to ESPN Insider, the Magic think highly of Clippers guard Corey Maggette, but it will almost certainly take a sign-and-trade deal to lure him back to Orlando. Maggette started his career in Orlando and still owns a home in Central Florida (where his parents live). But getting him would likely cost the Magic Most Improved Player Hedo Turkoglu in a trade, and that's a deal GM Otis Smith isn't eager to make. The Celtics have also made Maggette an offer but with an offer. The guys on Sports Tonight speculated that the Celtics may be offering Ray Allen in a sign and trade and the Clippers have wanted Ray Allen for some time so who knows. They may also have offered him the LLE and hoped that his desire for a ring would overwhelm his desire for a big contract. According to MySA the Spurs are prepared to offer Maggette the full MLE for the next year. Maggette wants to go to a contender and has suggested that he would be willing to take less for a chance at a ring. San Antonio is definitely still a contender as are the Celtics so both would probably be in his list of possibilities. It may depend on who he thinks has the best chance to win it all.

The Rockets are pursuing Brent Barry according to the Houston Chronicle. The Celtics went after him before he went back to San Antonio. But, I expect him to stay in Texas.

Biggest Draft Busts of All Time

The NBA draft is just days away and undoubtedly, someone will make a franchise crippling decision, like drafting the next Kobe Bryant and trading him for an over-the-hill center, or passing on the next Dwayne Wade in favor of the European mystery bag that is Darko Milicic. Only time will tell how good (or not so good) this class will be, but for now, let's take a look at some blunders of the past.

10. Jonathan Bender, Toronto Raptors/Indiana Pacers

Perhaps 13 teams missing on Kobe Bryant three years earlier played a role in this 1999 selection, but Bender was undoubtedly a mistake. Selected fifth overall by the Raptors and promptly dealt to the Pacers, Bender was selected in front of talents like Shawn Marion, Richard Hamilton, and Corey Maggette.

9. Ed O'Bannon, New Jersey Nets

One could argue that Joe Smith was a bad pick at number one overall, considering the talent in the 1995 draft class. I would argue that 13 years later, he's still in the league. By 1997, Ed O'Bannon wasn't. Not good for a top ten pick. Michael Finley or Brent Barry would have been more serviceable picks.

8. Shawn Bradley, Philadelphia 76ers

It's tough to call a guy who lasted 12 years a bust. At 7'5", Bradley was supposed to be a giant who could run the floor. Unfortunately he was just a giant. Despite his lack of athleticism, size can help a whole lot in the NBA, and he sure had that. However, the Sixers probably wish they would have sent the card in with Penny Hardaway or Jamal Mashburn's name instead.

7. Kwame Brown, Washington Wizards

In 2001, the Wizards were looking to start over and Kwame Brown was to be the face of the franchise. Sadly, it was an ugly, ugly face. Averaging 7.5 points and 5.7 boards a game for a career, Brown was a huge bust. It's astonishing that the Wizards were able to deal him to Los Angeles for Caron Butler, who went on to play make back to back All-Star appearances in 2007 and 2008.

6. Michael Olowokandi, Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers tend not to draft well. With a pretty good 1998 draft class, they really shouldn't have bombed, but boy did they… The "Kandi Man" was selected first overall, in front of Paul Pierce, Dirk Nowitzki, Vince Carter, Antawn Jamison and Mike Bibby.

5. Rick Robey, Indiana Pacers

How does one average less than 15 points and 8 rebounds a game in college and still get drafted in the top three? It's still a mystery thirty years later, but in 1978, the Pacers made Robey a top three selection. In hindsight, they probably shouldn't have let a hometown kid from Indiana State fall to the Celtics at pick six. Larry Bird probably would have been a better selection.

4. Dennis Hopson, New Jersey Nets

Hopson was picked third in the 1987 draft and actually went on to have a decent career. But it wasn't the career of a Scottie Pippen, Kevin Johnson or Reggie Miller – all picked after him.

3. Darko Milicic, Detroit Pistons

You knew he was coming. The 2003 draft was among the best in history, and certainly in recent memory. But pick number two was not one of the next big stars in the NBA. Darko was selected in front of Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, David West and Josh Howard, among others.

2. LaRue Martin, Portland Trail Blazers

If you're the number one pick in the draft, you should really stay in the league longer than four seasons. You should probably average more than 5 points a game. It could be argued that Bob McAdoo (picked second) or Julius Erving (picked twelfth) would have been better picks in 1972. Perhaps…

1. Sam Bowie, Portland Trail Blazers

Taken number two overall in 1984 by the Blazers, Bowie had an okay career. But what makes a bad pick a bad pick in the NBA isn't necessarily how good or bad you were, but how good or bad everyone around you in that draft was. And in the Blazers defense, they already had Clyde Drexler, so the pick made sense at the time. Unfortunately for Sam Bowie, and the Blazers, the team passed on guys like Charles Barkley, John Stockton, and some guy who used to wear 23 in Chicago.

For You People That Think The NBA Is Fixed.....

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_1OMiSrEJXnY/SE6_HIXb3KI/AAAAAAAAHT8/cATDCeJ3wlI/s1600-h/david+stern.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 357px; height: 262px;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_1OMiSrEJXnY/SE6_HIXb3KI/AAAAAAAAHT8/cATDCeJ3wlI/s400/david+stern.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5210311948140010658" border="0" /></a><br />Here is the ref assignments for Game Three Tonight. The last time I posted the refs ahead of the game was the Joey Crawford non-call on Derek Fisher when he fouled (or didn't foul) Brent Barry in Game Six of the Western Conference Finals. Hey, well lookie here! Via <a href="http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/2008/06/referee_assignm.html">Boston.com....</a><br /><blockquote><span style="font-weight: bold;">Official 1: Joey Crawford</span><br /><br />In April 2007, NBA commissioner David Stern suspended Crawford for his conduct toward the Spurs' Tim Duncan. Crawford ejected Duncan from San Antonio's loss to the Mavericks after calling a second technical foul on the Spurs star while he was laughing on the bench. Duncan contended that Crawford challenged him to a fight.<br /><br />The Celtics are 2-1 in '08 postseason games in which Crawford was part of the officiating crew.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Official 2: Bennett Salvatore</span><br /><br />Salvatore made a controversial call against Celtics captain Paul Pierce late in the third quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals, when Pierce pumped faked Rodney Stuckey, leaned in, and hit a long three-pointer. But Salvatore called a charge on Pierce and a potential four-point play turned into a Detroit possession.<br /><br />The Celtics are 3-2 in '08 postseason games in which Salvatore was part of the officiating crew.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Official 3: Mark Wunderlich</span><br /><br />Wonderlich, along with Crawford and Joe Forte, was part of the three-man crew that did not call of foul on Lakers guard Derek Fisher for banging into San Antonio's Brent Barry on the final play of the Spurs' 93-91 loss in Game of Game 4 in the Western Conference finals. The NBA later admitted that it appears a foul should have been called on Fisher.</blockquote>Obviously since this comes from Boston.com the article is writing in regards to them, but it never ceases to amaze me how David Stern puts the most controversial refs in some of the most important Playoff games. Not only is Joey Crawford involved but if you need a home team to win a game there's no better ref to choose than Bennett Salvatore. From a Bill Simmons <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060620">column back in June of 2006.....</a><br /><blockquote>"I don't think the NBA fixes games, but they have one trick that they use for situations like this -- when they want a home team to win the game, they invariably assign the worst referees possible to that game for two reasons: Bad referees have a tendency to get swayed by the home crowd, and bad referees never have the stones to make a tough call on the road.<br /><br />Then I went on to list the worst six referees. Here was No. 2 on the list:<br /><br />"2. Bennett Salvatore -- Always one of the worst, he took it to another level this season. If you see him on the court at the start of the game, get ready for about six technicals, two near-brawls and both coaches having to be restrained by their assistants at various times."</blockquote>Dunh! Dunh! Dunh!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/extras/celtics_blog/2008/06/referee_assignm.html">Referee assignments for tonight</a> (Boston.com)

Was This The Worst Call In NBA History? (video)

I'm still boggled that Pierce got called for an OFFENSIVE FOUL on this? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

Let me remind you that this play in the Spurs/Lakers series was a no call which later on the league said SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DEFENSIVE FOUL.

So, I Believe that the offensive foul called on Pierce Is The Worst Call In NBA History!

NBA screwed up another call-Barry was fouled by Fisher

The NBA is notorious for protecting it's stars with calls and making the games inconsistent with the refs calls. You have to look no further than the flagrant fouls that keep being called/not called on the most bogus plays. The reason I'm writing this is in regards to the non-call against Derek Fisher, hardly a star in the NBA, and it was clearly a foul against Brent Barry. The NBA came out and said the officials botched this one, and I can't agree more. When are they going to be consistent, when are they going to start calling the game as it should be?

Fixing The NBA's Image Problem

No, not that image problem. There are plenty of 60 year old white men worrying about that. I'm talking about something that's actually a serious problem for the NBA, the refs. We bitch about football refs, baseball umps, and hockey refs all the time. Right now MLB umpires are under fire for a slew of botched home run calls. But, do we ever think that the NFL, MLB, NCAA, or NHL referees/umps purposely tank games?

Long before the Tim Donaghy fiasco broke, my old man refused to watch the NBA because he was convinced that all NBA games are fixed.

Foul on Derek Fisher or No Foul?

I suppose another way of asking the same question is: should the refs be blowing the whistle that late in the game? In case you missed the close play or want to see it again, here it is, because it's pretty clear there's a lot of contact.

That looks a lot like a foul, and [...]

Did the Lakers Get Help

We have all heard the conspiracy theory about David Stern and the NBA wanting the Lakers in the Finals. I have never believed it translated into any shenanigans on the court. After last night, the argument has gotten stronger.

It was a good call!

The refs and the league want to see the game decided by the players, not a whistle. I know that, you know that, the players know that.

Derek Fisher did technically foul Brent Barry, but as long as we all know the league's stance and what to expect, it's a perfectly level, fair playing field. Get over it.

Derek Fisher and Lakers Luck Out Big Time!

NBA Playoff Rant from the Muffin:

The Los Angeles Lakers just won game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on a veeery controversial call. Down by two with a few seconds to go Brent Barry of the Spurs received the inbounds pass and Derek Fisher jumped in the air and CLEARLY bumped Barry before he went up for the shot. I know refs don't want to influence the end of the game with a bad call, but last time I checked you can't run and jump into somebody. It would have been one thing if Derek hadn't left his feet or even if he had jumped straight into the air. That was not the case. Now I am listening to Reggie Miller, Barkley, and the Jet talk about how it was Barry's fault for not "selling the foul". Apparently they want to see more manu-style flopping. Maybe they wanted Barry to fall to the ground and grab his ankle like an Italian soccer player. Disgusting! I can't believe I have to see Kobe's smug face roll into June.

Brent Barry/Derek Fisher Foul Video (and Kobe's reverse jam)

In my opinion, Brent Barry should be asking the lovely Kate Faber for her extra Rape-Kit, but…you make the call. Was Brent Barry fouled and should it have resulted in two free throws?
