A couple of Points about the Second Celtics PreSeason Game

First and foremost: Perk is a beast. That much is certain and eternal. And yet everything is different about Kendrick this season. He moves quicker. He jumps higher. He moves with confidence. When he dribbles, the ground doesn't shake. He's light on his feet. We're now in the first steps of the master plan here.

Step one is the wide open dunks.
Step two will be when he's jumping over Garnett to block a mutha.
Step three is unleashing the post game.
Step four is growing a full beard with the bald head.
Step five is total world domination.

We warned you all about the beast. We warned Winderman he would eat his words. We told the world first. Perk is a beast.

Secondly, Minnesotta doesn't deserve Al Jefferson. The same way Donny doesn't deserve to be at the mic with Mike Gorman. They ran no plays for Al. They didn't start him. They limited his minutes, and pretty much ceded the game from the start. Hey Minny, feed the big man the ball. One good thing about this trade for us Al Jefferson fans was that we would finally get to see him be the centerpiece of an offense. I'm not seeing it. Shamefull jof of gameplanning on behalf of Whitman and the Timberwolves coaching staff. Hurt ankle or not, Big Al should have had a chance to at least compete against Kevin Garnett, god knows he'll be competing with his ghost.

3. KG and Paul Pierce didn't break double digits and yet they dominated. Incredible performance by Garnett. The kind of game that makes you think he can play till he's 40. Pierce was quiet but solid.

4. Ray Allen was sublime. Talk about an effortless 28 points. He did this in basically two-and-a-half quarters. Wow.

5. Esteban Batista should make the team. Cut Jackie Manuel. Cut Dahntay Jones andd keep Esteban. He really showed last night.

6. The league should realize they've been put on notice.

Celtics Target Batista

According to the Marc Spears in the Globe, the Celtics are one of 4 teams that have targeted the Hawks free agent Esteban Batista.

The Bobcats, Suns and Pacers are targeting a player who made a mark for himself playing for Uruguay at the FIBA Tournament in Las Vegas.

The 24-year old Batista led the tournament in rebounds, averaging 12.4 boards over eight games. He was third in scoring average with 20.8 points per contest. Last season he played 13 games for the Hawks, averaging 1.5 ppg and 2.3 rpg.

Cornstein said he expects the 6-10, 268 pound forward/center to make his decision in the near future.

"I think he will be a good pick for them (Celtics)," Cornstien He's a tough banger who runs the floor. I think he will be a great fit. But all of the teams would be good."

If we were to sign Batista, we would more than likely cut Manuel, whose contract isn't guaranteed. He would help to shore up our big man rotation and give us a third option at center should Pollard go down with an injury, which seems to happen more often than not. He is only 24 and in FIBA Americas championship, he averaged 20.8 ppg, and 12.4 rpg. Let's hope the lure of Kevin Garnett works again.

Three way trade rumor

The latest trade rumor going around in a three-way binger between the Blazers, Hawks and Wizards. It's mostly scrubs, but Jamaaal would go to the Wizards, Brendan Haywood and Jarvis Hayes go to the Hawks and Salim Stoudamire, Esteban Batista and Lorenzen Wright would go to the Blazers.
I don't know if I really care about the deal or not, but it would fit needs for each team and it works under the salary cap.
