Friday game report: Bucks at Timberwolves

ON THE COURT

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Backup point guard Luke Ridnour found his shooting stroke, scoring 14 of his 16 points in the second half and drilling a pair of three-pointers. "With all the hype surrounding Brandon (Jennings), Luke has been sitting there in the shadows a little bit," Bucks guard Charlie Bell said. "He really came big for us tonight, and we need that. He didn't play much in the first couple games. That's what a real pro does, he just goes ...

Game Preview #4: Chicago Bulls vs Milwaukee Bucks

[Thanks to Ozzie Montana for today's game preview. Sign up if you want to do one in the future. I figure the Bulls have an easy blowout, and we all laugh at how it made sense the Bulls offense to start out cruddy against three good defensive teams. But we'll also likely be wrong then thinking the offensive efficiency problem will go away. But if they lose...real fun begins here. -ed]
You have to hand it to this team. They really know how to crush even the most mild of expectation...

Charlie Bell, No. 42

Of the players on this season's roster, there are only two who have but on the court for more minutes under coach Scott Skiles than guard Charlie Bell.

Bell played a total of 1,783 minutes a year ago in Skiles' first season with the Bucks and only guard Luke Ridnour (2,033) and forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (2,114) played more. With seven new players joining the team this season, it has come in handy to have veterans around, such as Bell, who are familiar with the system.

Imagine growing up and having the opportunity to learn how to shoot or the proper defensive mechanics from an NBA player. Most basketball camps would cost a price to teach kids such skills. But Bucks guard Charlie Bell is teaching skills for FREE.

I am slightly bereft with a 30% chance of ennui.

Now the Bucks have a 2-guard problem. Sure, Michael Redd had some severe flaws in terms of motion as well as defense. And he has developed into a bit of an injury prone struggle bug in recent seasons. But Redd is a shooter nonpareil. And 20 PPG just doesn't grow on trees. (Well, it can, but it's ...
