"The Lakers have a chance," Scottie Pippen said. "They have the luxury of a young center like [Andrew] Bynum, a young power like [Pau] Gasol and even Josh Powell is a guy who deserves minutes. They have a lot of depth. If anybody can challenge [the record], it's them."
Before I blast the most overrated player in the history of the NBA, I should point out that I don't know what type of question lead to this response. Did Mannix say "Can the Lakers challenge your Bulls record? or did he say "Can any team challenge your Bulls record?" There's a difference. But for the sake of this blog, I'm going to assume it was the latter.

If you are going to cite depth, than you gotta mention the Celtics. And if you are going to cite the Lakers depth, naming Josh Powell won't help your argument. Andrew Bynum? He's the first name out of Pippen's mouth? I have more health concerns about his knees than I do with KG.

It's really just Pippen showing his ignorance about basketball. What can you expect from a guy who refused to take the floor at the end of a playoff game because he was asked to pass and not shoot?

Has Andrew Bynum outgrown Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

For four years the relationship between the NBA's all-time leading scorer and Bynum seemed to be a productive one.

Abdul-Jabbar took Bynum under his considerable wing, taught him post skills and footwork, while Bynum listened and grew into one of the brightest young centers in the NBA.

But that relationship now seems to be running its course, at least as far as Bynum is concerned.

Sources close to the team said that Abdul-Jabbar will be playing a lesser role with both the Lakers and Bynum this season.

Good move, Bynum. What the hell could one of the greatest centers in NBA history teach you anyways?

Meanwhile, while you were backpacking through Europe, Perk was working his ass off in the gym, getting leaner and stronger and developing his post-game with Clifford Ray.

Bynum will disappoint the Lakers again this year, and next off-season they will attempt to trade him. I guarantee it.

Andrew Bynum is getting some heat for staying in L.A. this weekend and partying at Playboy's Celebrity Golf Scramble while the Lakers were on a road trip. He is currently rehabbing his knee, and I guess some people think that means he needs to be at physical therapy 24 hours a day. The picture below of Bynum giving a piggy-back ride to Playmate Nicole Narain on Saturday night has been all over the internet (as originally reported by SI's Arash Markazi).

Yardbarker was covering the Playboy Golf event, and I ran into Bynum on Friday on the golf course. In all fairness, he made a point NOT to golf (contrary to what Sports Center reported). He spent most of the time sitting at the clubhouse and I had to convince him to get up from his table and visit a few of the tees to hang out. He was trying not to draw too much media attention to what was just a harmless day of fun, so I wasn't planning to post any video of him. But since the word is out now, I'll share this video which shows just how harmless his "partying" was. Here is Andrew Bynum's physical therapy for the day: hula hooping with some of the Playboy Girls of Golf...

Andrew Bynum's Rehabbing His Knee At The Playboy Mansion

Wearing a green smoking jacket and slippers, Bynum… partied like a rock star near the infamous grotto. He picked up Playmate Nicole Narain and placed her on his shoulders and got somebody to take a picture with his digital camera. He hopped over a velvet rope near the DJ booth so he could take a picture with Narain and other Playmates who ended up sitting on his lap.
