I always liked Rodney Carney. As you may recall, the Memphis swingman spent a couple of seasons with the Sixers rather recetnly, traded from the Bulls on draft night in 2006 for our pick of Thabo Sefolosha, and getting dumped to the Timberwolves in 2009 to make cap space for the Elton Brand signing. Tom Moore is reporting that the Sixers are on the verge of signing ex-Sixer wing man Rodney Carney to the veteran's minimum. This isn't really a surprise. Carney's name was floated around as a possible addition to the wing for the Sixers. Sixers Overcome 18 Point 4th Quarter Defecit to Defeat Bulls

This is the type of game playoff teams win. The Sixers trailed 88-70 with 11 minutes left and looked poised to drop a game against a weak Bulls team. Instead, led by Rodney Carney and Andre Iguodala, they came storming back with a run of 40-18 to win the game 110-106. Carney scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, including a three pointer with under 2 minutes left to give the Sixers a lead that they never relinquished. Iguodala led all scorers with 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

The Sixers have until midnight tonight to work out a contract extension with Iguodala or else they'll have to wait until the summer, when Iguodala becomes a restricted free agent (the Sixers would have the right to match any offer). Hopefully the two sides can work out a deal or else Iguodala's stock should skyrocket this season, increasing his price tag tremendously.
