Cards bring back C LaRue on 1-year, $950K deal

Catcher Jason LaRue has agreed to a $950,000, one-year contract to remain with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Yadier Molina's backup for two seasons, LaRue hit .240 with two homers and six RBIs in 104 at-bats last season. He started 26 games and appeared in 51 overall.

"Jason is a great fit for our ballclub in his current role," Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Monday. "His veteran leadership both on and off the field is something we value highly.

A few Yankee notes for a slow Monday

Just a handful of New York Yankees notes this morning.

Was Watching says the Yanks Should Move Posada To D.H. In 2010.My guess is there is a lot of agreement around here with that statement. Especially when you consider some of the numbers Was Watching highlighted.
In "The Bill James Handbook 2010" the Fielding Bible’s "Runs Saved" leaders over the last three years are listed at each defensive position.
At "catcher," over the last three years, Ya...

feel left out when it comes to another way of understanding and
appreciating the game we all love. With that in mind, BLS stat doctor Alex Remington will explore a new advanced statistic each week during the offseason, providing a simple prim...
