There's a feeling of potential about this Clippers team. In fact, when I see four out of five HoopsWorld writers predicting second in the Pacific (i.e. ahead of the Suns, who won 46 games last season) and the fifth predicting a .500 season (i.e. a 22 game improvement...

I've resisted doing one of these roster break downs to this point, tempting as they are. After all, the things I wrote about the roster last spring were so ludicrously irrelevant by the time the season rolled around as to be laughable in retrospect. But with the draft finally in our rear view...

It marks the first Owl to earn All-America status since Mardy Collins also garnered Honorable Mention All-America as a senior in 2005-06.

I Spoke Too Soon

Well, I was right that the Crawford/Harrington trade could set in motion more trades. No way did I think that those trades would start happening within hours. Apparently Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins have been shipped (pun intended) to the Clippers for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas. I assumed ...

Harrington to the Knicks for Crawford. Okay, I can deal with that. But Randolph to the Clips for Mobley and Tim Thomas? Dear God.
5 Players Who Shouldnt Be Taking Stephon Marbury's Spot

I am one of the few Marbury Supporters for many reasons. He can still play, he is far better than the guards the knicks have out their disregarding Crawford and Nate, and I feel the team would be better when he is playing. As funny as that maybe, just the past game D'Antoni decided to put Marbury on the inactive list for the foreseeable future. Basically you can say whatever you want with that statement...Marbury could be traded, released or just maxn relaxn waiting for a Knick guard to get injured....This "we are doing it for the future" is such BS excuse that coaches should be fined for saying that...What future do the Knicks have, no one plays defense...

At least with Marbury he can punish everyone elses defense with his runningback style of offense barreling through the lane with those uncanny football carry layups..He actually plays defense as a matter of fact, the problem is his big mans Curry n Randolph are the worst Defensive PF-C that has ever played the game of basketball. He is a far better shooter than Duhon and Collins. ...mardy collins air balls more shots in one night than he makes shots in a whole year...Roberson is a dud, Richardson is another D Antoni favorite as is Gallinari which never leads to success. Duhon is a backup at best...

Couple Recent Marburyisms---> (NEWSDAY the 29th of OCtober)--->Pro Obama

Marbury, who donated the individual maximum of $2,300 to Obama's campaign in June 2007, said he's not looking for a tax break from the next president, even though his 2008-09 salary of $20.8 million puts him in an income bracket the rest of us can only dream about.

In fact, Marbury told Newsday on Monday that he's more than willing to pay his share and even endorsed what he called Obama's plan to "spread the wealth.

"I think that it's going to help," Marbury said. "By him trying to create change and by him trying to spread the wealth as opposed to the rich getting rich and the poor staying poor, he's trying to make it diverse and I believe in that.

"I pay taxes just like everybody else - half of my money goes to taxes - and I feel like it should go to the people who need it. Me coming from where I come from, I'm aware of the situation that people are in right now, coming from Coney Island and the projects. Me having what I have is a blessing."

-------------------------------------------------------3-------------------------------------------------------------------3----------------------------------

November 1st 2008--->(http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/01/sports/basketball/01knicks.html?ref=sports)

Notable QUotes:

Marbury left the bench to huddle in timeouts and slapped the hands of teammates who departed the game. He reiterated his statements that he wanted to remain in New York and help the team win a championship, no matter how far off that might be.

"I'm not frustrated at all," Marbury said. "I have no control over it. If it was raining outside, I can't get mad if it's raining. I've got to go get an umbrella and then walk in the rain. I have no control over the situation. The coach makes the decision on who plays and who's not going to play, and, obviously, right now he feels like I'm not one of the guys that's going to be playing."

Other questions elicited a simpler response.

Is it O.K. with you?

"Coach's decision," Marbury said.

Would you rather sit in clothes than a jersey?

"Coach's decision," Marbury said.

Did you want the chance to talk to D'Antoni about the decision?

"Coach's decision," Marbury said.

For all the predictable responses those questions returned, when asked if he wanted to play somewhere else, Marbury took a moment to size up the question, then offered another simple, yet different answer.

"Next question," he said.

--------3-----------------------------------3----------------------------------------3-------------------------------------------------3-----------------------------

Give him a break (dad died last yr) at least or a chance to prove himself and make up for whatever mistakes he supposedly has..Duhon as a starter O please!!..if the knicks management dont respect his passion for the game which we all know he does, let him go to a better team. I hope he goes to the celtics or lakers and make the knicks look even worse as a franchise....
