The New Orleans Hornets sign forward Ike Diogu

The Hornets have signed 25-year old forward Ike Diogu to a 1-year deal. Diogu played in 29 games (1 start) last season for the Blazers and Kings averaging 7.4 minutes, 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game. He has now played in 187 games (18 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 12.4 minutes, 6.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Diogu should really help the Hornets with some muscle off the bench. The Hornets have really improved the front line this off season.

Look who's still in the NBA!

That's right - our main man, Ike Diogu, just signed a contract with the New Orleans Hornets! I'm predicting that he'll get about 15 minutes a game behind all-star David West.

Or not.

Check out Ball Don't Lie on Yahoo Sports for more coverage!

On a side note, yo Ike, think you can introduce me to your lady friends there?

The New Orleans Hornets announced that they have signed forward Ike Diogu and his enthusiastic pool service staff to a couple of free agent contracts, hoping the team can provide solid backup minutes behind All-Star David West, as well as help get rid of that unsightly algae in the deep end."We're excited to have Ike join our team and expect him to help the frontline off the bench this season," said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. "He has shown a lot of potential as an ...

Diogu Too?

Rumors from around the league are suggesting that – in the wake of the Chandler/Okafor deal – that free agent Ike Diogu may be New Orleans’ next prospect.
Diogu played for Portland last year appearing in only 29 games, but averaged 9.2 ppg and 3.9 boards per 14 minutes over a ten-game stretch.

Remember the official StR Ike Diogu/Leon Powe comparison post? Sean May would fit into that. If he fits into anyth-- no, I'm not going to head down that road. We don't need this post to be 5,000 words.

Ike Diogu?

This isn't the first time his name's come up... but the Celtics are apparently one of 10 teams that have shown at least some interest in Ike Diogu.I think Ike's a back up plan in case someone tosses a full MLE at Baby. I don't expect to see him in Green.

Diogu said "about 10 teams" have shown interest in him, including Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston, Dallas, Charlotte, Toronto, Denver and Washington. Depending on what transpires in the summer months on the free agency front or in terms of trades, the Kings – who have approximately $6 million in salary-cap room and are shopping for a frontcourt addition – could still be an option for Diogu. Diogu's agent, however, said he has no reason to believe his client is in the Kings' ...

Quite obviously, I'm in the tank for Leon Powe. I begged the Kings to draft him in 2006 with the No. 19 pick which went to Quincy Douby -- Powe ended up going to Boston with the 19th pick in the second round. Powe's story is heart-rending, and it gets even moreso every passing day. (He also happens to be a killer player.)
In Game 2 of Boston's open...
