Last year we debuted the “Highs and Lows” system — previewing the NBA season by predicting the respective ceiling and basement for each team. Same theme, different season…
Added: Jrue Holiday, Jason Kapono, Rodney Carney
Lost: Andre Miller, Reggie Evans, Donyell Marshall, Theo Ratliff, Kareem Rush
Ceiling: 5th seed, Eastern Conference
Without too much roster turnover, this is kind [...]

Toronto Raptors Acquired Reggie Evans to Make a Man Out of Andrea Bargnani

During this past offseason, when the Toronto Raptors and the Philadelphia 76ers swapped Jason Kapono for Reggie Evans, it looked like a minor move that help fill general needs for both teams - the Sixers were dying for outside shooting and the Raptors were looking to add some toughness and rebounding to the mix.
Now [...]

BDL mini-chat: 10 best big forwards of the last decade

Big and burly and fearsome and tough and effective. Elvin
Hayes, power forwards, all that nonsense.
In a way, it might be the easiest position out there. Hear
me out.
Sure, Dennis Rodman or Reggie Evans(notes) might be out there to do
terrible things to your lower half, but you also don't have to guard centers,
or chase around small forwards.
You get to set screens on little guys, and get an open shot
as a result. And if your team's 7-footer stinks, and most team's 7-footer doe...

The Toronto Star (Doug Smith) reports: “The only way you’re going to succeed in this game is certain people have to bring certain things to the table,” Reggie Evans said yesterday after taking his physical at the Air Canada Centre, the final step to completing the deal for Jason Kapono. “Like Chris Bosh: We look [...]

Raptors, 76ers Swap Kapono and Evans

by Matt WatsonFiled under: 76ers, Raptors, NBA TransactionsSure, the NBA Finals aren't even halfway over (or are they? Orlando can win at least one game, right?), but the rest of the league is officially looking toward the future. The Raptors and 76ers have completed the first trade of the summer, sending sharpshooter Jason Kapono south to Philadelphia in exchange for bruising forward Reggie Evans. Raptors prez and GM Bryan Colangelo announced the move this afternoon. From Doug Smith of t...

Reggie Evans Traded for Jason Kapono

The Sixers have coveted a long range sharp shooter ever since they traded away Kyle Korver. This is a roster of hustle players and athletes whose defense creates fast break opportunities because of an inability to score consistently in the half court. Well today Sixers fans got their wish as Jason Kapono comes to town with a green light in tow. He’ll be great spotting up for threes in transition and off secondary breaks. Problem is, Reggie Evans unfortunately was on the other end of the trade. Reggie Evans came in with Andre Miller as part of the Iverson trade and is infinite hustle. Great teammate who was one of the few professional athletes who paid visits to the opposing team’s locker room after games because he was one of the most liked players in the league. I’ll miss dude’s enthusiasm in the locker room as well. He is the epitome of what a cult figure should be. They’ll love Reggie in Toronto. This past season, he worked on his free throws but had his minutes cut with the emergence of Mareese Speights. Mos def will miss Reggie for stuff like this:

News From the Front: Reggie Evans Traded to Toronto for Jason Kapono

Well, while the rest of the NBA's GMs are off improving their golf handicaps and getting to know their grandkids for the first time in eight months, our own Ed Stefanski is working tirelessly to make sure that the six-game first-round exits that have embarrassed the 76ers the last two seasons do not haunt the boys to the tune of a threepeat. To that end, the first big move of the off-season has been made: lunchpailin' power forward Reggie Evans to the Toronto Raptors in retur...

Sixers Forget How to Play D, Fall to Suns

Our man Saul Zebovitz gives us his thoughts on last night's loss.Let me begin by just saying that last night was an
awful, awful game that Sixers could have and should have won... but
played like they wanted to lose. And lose they did. The biggest problem
in this game was that no one played defense. We all came into the game
knowing that the Suns don't play D, but I expected the Sixers to be
able to run just as well as Phoenix, but als...

Reggie Evans Isn't Getting Traded...Yet

The Nuggets have no use for Reggie Evans. At least as long as K-Mart returns from injury like he's supposed to. Reggie has skills -- he's one of the leagues best rebounders -- and it make sense to trade him rather than let him rot on the bench. But why trade him right away? His value is only going to increase as the new season progresses, and as long as he's on the Nuggets bench he's insurance in case Nene, Camby, or K-Mart get hurt (which is almost guaranteed).

Evans will get traded, but not until the last possible moment.
