Utah Jazz: The Most Disgusting Fans In The History of Sports

Philadelphia fans are known to be brutal. Throwing snow balls at Santa Claus, booing their franchise players, and cheering when opposing players get injured are just several infamous occasions in which the City of Brotherly Love didn't live up to its name.

But that's nothing compared to the disgusting fans in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Last season, Derek Fisher...

Top 30 NBA Point Guards

Chris Paul is for real. He lead the New Orleans Hornets from no playoffs the year before to the 2 spot in the highly competitive West. He's extremely dangerous to other teams when it comes to decison making. From pulling up for a jumper, to driving in the lane to dishing it back out to an open teammate, they're all possibilities for him in just one play. He is the best point guard in the NBA.

Just a few things to say before I wrap this up. Jamal Crawford, he's a shooting guard running the point. He did pretty good, but Nate Robinson really should have taken that spot, and he might get that chance with Mike D'Antoni heading to New York and Marbury possibly opting out or getting traded.

In fact a lot of players in the NBA are going to get their chance to shine in the NBA soon. A lot of the star veterans are nearing retirement. Players like Steve Nash, Chauncey Billups, Allen Iverson, Shaq, Dirk Nowitzki, even Shawn Marion turned 30 a few days ago. Soon they'll start to break down and eventually retire, making room for the younger guys to take charge. In a few years, the NBA's going to be a whole differnt game.

David Aldridge normally has that kool, kalm keep when interviewing on the sidelines. Not at halftime when talking to Derek Fisher about the Lakers' manhandling of the Jazz. Goodness around 0:18.

Lakers/Jazz Preview: The battle of the efficient

During the regular season, Utah and L.A. were 2/3 in offensive efficiency (after Phoenix), which means that the Jazz and the Lakers were both in the top three in points per possession. This is no surprise considering that these two teams are coached by two of the best in the league, Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan. Jackson runs the infamous Triangle Offense, while Sloan utilizes UCLA cuts (an upscreen from the post for the point guard) and even the ol' Flex cut in his offensive attack. Both teams are extremely good at hitting the open man as evidenced by their appearance in the top four in league-wide assists per possession.

This series provides some especially interesting matchups. Kobe Bryant causes huge headaches for opposing coaches, but the Jazz have two athletic, rangy defenders in Ronnie Brewer and Andrei Kirilenko to throw at him. I suspect they'll start the game with Brewer watching Bryant and then Kirilenko will take over when Kyle Korver is inserted into the game. Neither player has been particularly effective in limiting Bryant, who has averaged 29.8 points and shot over 56% from the field in the four head-to-head meetings with the Jazz this season.

Utah also has to be concerned about Pau Gasol...

Phil Jackson for COY

This year's awards are probably the absolute hardest to hand out. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) might be the toughest one, but the others are debatable as well. I think that only two of the are unanimous and have already been decided based on the superb play of the players receiving the awards. Phil Jackson has done a superb job with this year's Los Angeles Lakers...

Lakers 106, Spurs 85: Kobe's Supporting Cast Gets It Done

"However, note that Bryant is not solely responsible for the Lakers' soaring in the standings. Yes, he makes teammates better, but they deserve a lot of credit, too, for improving (Andrew Bynum, a prime example) on their own, and the incoming player (Pau Gasol) made Kobe better.

Furthermore, if Bryant wasn't setting up perimeter shooters and drivers for dunks, Lamar Odom is almost as capable. Contrary to popular distortion Kobe does not deserve this honor based on Lifetime Achievement, but strictly on this simonized season.

The Warriors came out strong, again, took an 11 point lead at halftime, and again, managed to blow the lead...

NBA, Where 10th to 1st Place Happens, What's Next for Rockets

After defeating the Lakers, the team that was tied with them, the Rockets stand alone at the top of the west, winning 104-92. "Skip to my Lou" Rafer Alston was amazing dropping career highs of eight 3 pointers and 31 points while Bobby Jackson came off the bench for 19 points and 6 rebounds. T-Mac was ice cold in the first half, but he had 8 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 6 assists. The thing about T-Mac, he'll be there when it counts.

Just about every player on the Rockets pitched in. Luis Scola had a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mike Harris, signed to a 10-day contract, had 6 points and 6 rebounds. Chuck Hayes had 3 points and 6 rebounds while Luther Head contributed 7 points. Dikembe Mutombo had 9 rebounds and a block, while Shane Battier had 14 points and a late game block on Kobe Bryant. All around team effort.

Speking of Kobe, he had 24 points and 7 rebounds while Lamar Odom had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Vladimir Radmonovic had only 5 points, despite starting, but had 5 rebounds to go along with Ronny Turiaf, getting the start in Pau Gasol's place, had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Luke Wal;ton had 9 points, Jordan Farmar had 8, Sasha Vujacic had 7, Derek Fisher had 6 and D.J. Mbenga had 3. No player on the Lakers had more than 3 assists.

The Rockets continue to roll after breaking the first place tie and claim supremacy, but their record doesn't get any easier after this. They'll have to go to Boston to take on the Celtics, who came off of their first home loss to a Western Conference team, the Utah Jazz. After that, home games to the Hornets, Warriors and Suns. They've gone 22-0. 26-0 would be amazing if they pass all of these teams. With a the team like the Rockets, it's not impossible.
