The 2009 NBA Draft has gone just as expected, with Blake Griffin going first overall to the Clippers and things shaking out pretty predictably after that. The Celtics have surfaced as potential suitors for Memphis' #2 pick in the draft:

As the rumor mill churns, the Griz have been approached by several teams about acquiring the second overall pick. Boston, Houston and New York are said to be among the most recent suitors.

Boston and Houston would likely have to offer an established NBA player or two, given that neither team owns a first-round pick.

Not sure why the Celtics would want the #2 pick, unless there's interest in Haseem Thabeet. He's the only guy who could help them win a title. But do we have anything Memphis would want?

There are rumors and then there are rumors. We found this one on the RealGM message boards, posted by someone with a reputation for having inside information. I'll need a shower after posting this, but here it is:

Boston offered us tony allen and Jr Giddens for (Willie) Green verbally...not sure what that does for us. Probably nothing.

For those wondering, Willie Green is a 6-3 swingman who averaged 8 ppg last season. Other than that, I don't know much about his game.

After the sixers signed royal ivey..It was like..Ok..he's a lock down defender, he's a better three point shooter than anybody we have on the roster, and his personality brings more heat of the bench. However, the sixers just signed kareem rush(39% 3 point shooter) who is definately somebody we needed..but are these signings made to add depth and shooting to our roster..or are they early signings made for when they lose andre or lou...or both??? Halfway through the week I dubbed "Hell Week", and the Sixers are halfway towards their goal of winning two games. They barely defeated the Pistons 83-82, made no shots in the final 2:27 of play, and needed Mr. Clutch Chauncey Billups to miss a last second shot to pull it off, but when you are fighting for the playoffs, a win is a win.
