This game could have easily been tossed out the window. A back to back getaway game on an East Coast road trip, against a young, upstart 76er team. Damn the schedule makers-these things kill an older team like the Phoenix Suns. But Jared Dudley is not old. So we need not worry about that. And Ste...

Wizards drop fourth in a row, lose to Suns

The tailspin continued Sunday afternoon as the Wizards fell to the Phoenix Suns 102-90. Despite getting out to an early lead at the end of the first quarter, 29-26, the Wizards fell in yet another uninspired effort against the Suns. With the loss Washington fell to 2-5 on the season and earned their fourth loss in a row. The Suns improved to 6-1.
The Good:
Well...not much. To start with the team, the Wizards had less turnovers and shot better from the line than the Suns. With that being sai...

I like Ray to break out of his cold three point shooting and feast on the Suns lack-of-defense scheme. Also look for a big game from Rondo. He dropped 32 points, 10 assists and 23 points, 7 assists in the Celtics two blowout victories over Phoenix last year.

Who needs to be stopped: Steve Nash. He runs the show. It's tough to contain him, but if you can limit his scoring, then consider it a job well done.

The C's will lose if... They don't play defense on the three point line. As a team, Phoenix is shooting 45% from beyond the arc. Nash, Jason Richardson, Grant Hill and even Channing Frye can pull the trigger.

Wildcard: The Suns depth is thin. Center Robin Lopez is out, and Leandro Barbosa (wrist) will be a game-time decision. But the Celtics second unit cannot sleep on the Suns reserves. Jarod Dudley, Louis Amundson and Goran Dragic can play and should not be taken lightly.

Grading Game: Magic 122, Suns 100

Offense:
The Suns night offensively can be summed up by this, two of the Suns five starters didn’t score (Grant Hill and Jason Richardson) and Channing Frye chipped in a total of 5 points. The three combined to shoot 2-for-15 (Although Hill’s performance didn’t surprise Magic fans, it’s about what they got from him as a [...]

As always when the Suns meet the Warriors the over/under for the total points goes way up. In this case it's listed at ~232. By comparison, the next highest point total predicted for tonight's games is 213 (Miama vs Indiana) with most games around the 200 mark.

Back in July, I penned a little piece of commentary on the Suns' offseason called "No Franchise For Old Men" about how the Suns shouldn't have made re-signing Steve Nash and Grant Hill a priority. Um, yeah. About that...
Grant Hill (19 points) carried the Suns e...

At 11% TRB%, Grant Hill is a top 25 NBA rebounder

At 11% TRB%, Grant Hill is a top 25 NBA rebounder
If Amare plays, he is 14.8% on his career, with a shocking 9% on the offensive glass. In his best year, 2006-07, Amare got 13.6% of his offensive rebounds and 21.7% of his defensive ones for 17.8% TRB% overall. Don't tell me Amare can't rebound if he wants to. Lou Amundson rebounds at a 15.2% clip. Frye only 13.6% and with -3.3 PER compared to Amundson.

Grant Hill meeting with Celtics and Knicks...after talking to Kerr

Grant Hill meeting with Celtics and Knicks...after talking to Kerr
Grant Hill all but assured Phoenix media he was coming back. That was at the end of the season. Now with Shaq gone and after hearing the Suns plans straight from Kerr he's meeting with other teams. This tells me that the Suns will be blown up in the coming weeks.

Grant Hill Could Reunite With Doc Rivers

Doc Rivers may get a second chance to coach Grant Hill. The last time it didn't turn out so well. Rivers, now coach of the Boston Celtics, and Hill, an unrestricted free agent who played last season for the Phoenix Suns, will meet Sunday in Orlando to discuss the possibility of working together again. Both make their offseason homes here. "I don't have to go very far to meet with him this time,'' Hill said Saturday night before watching his wife Tamia perform at a Summer ...

Grant Hill Confirms It: Christian Laettner Is A Jerk

Phoenix Suns guard Grant Hill, he of Duke and “the next Jordan” fame, made one of his occasional appearances on the DAN PATRICK SHOW, but the cameo brought out some surprisingly good dirt. He had some strong stuff on Shaquille O’Neal, but nothing topped what Hill confirmed about former Duke teammate Christian Laettner: He’s just [...]

Happy Holidays!

What's good YB family? I know it's been a minute since I've been on, but things have gotten pretty crazy! I hope you all had GREAT holidays with your family! I know mine was exactly what I needed.

A few day's before Christmas, my partner Joe Walters, my younger cousin and I had one of our Run N' Gun Lacrosse Camp's in M ichigan which was one of my most enjoyable camps yet (which I'll explain later). Camp was Saturday and Sunday, and then Sunday night, I flew into ATL. My sister Kia (the one who made the video of her wack secret move) moved down there about a month ago, so I hadn't seen her or my niece Sage since! When I got to the airport in Michigan, I had a feeling things were going to go a bit south because of the weather, and the fact that it was the day before Christmas Eve. My flight was delayed a good 3 hours or so, the airport was filled with screaming/crying babies, and it was awesome! As miserable as everyone was about their flights being delayed/canceled, everyone was in the holiday spirit and it was a pretty cool atmostphere. Now, with that being said I couldn't have been happier to get on my plane and leave that place!

When I landed in ATL my sister and father picked me up at the airport and we went back to my sisters beautiful house and hugn out for a few hours, then called it a night.

It was definitely a bit different spending Christmas in ATL, simply because every Christmas up until this point has been spent at my parents house, but with my sister having the little one (she turns 2 in Jan!) and work on the 26th (She's a Midwife), it would have been too difficult to get to Baltimore and back. It was an amazing 4 days with my family, definitely something I've been waiting for for awhile. I made sure to hook the family up with some hot nike gear and I made sure Sage stay's rockin Jordan's! I got some pretty hot stuff from my family as well, but the best present was definitely being able to spend 4 days with them messing around and catching up with out a doubt.

Back to the camp in Michigan for a second. I've done A LOT of camps in my lacrosse career and gotten to a lot of different places, but It ruly believe these kids in Michigan that Joe and I are fortunate enough to work with are different. Then NEVER complain, they always say 'yes sir' or 'no sir' and most importantly, they work EXTREMELY hard. Those kids were absolutely exhausted at the end of camp, and it's because they put everything they had into every drill we did. During one on one's, we had too little guy's almost get in a fight! Not because they hate each other or were trying to hurt each other, but because their emotions were running high, and they were competing, it was incredible. They hugged right afterwards, and then went right back at each other the next time it was their turn. Not only are they hard workers and good lacrosse players, but their great people, and they made the camp last weekend one of the most enjoyable I've had the opportunity to be a part of. We've got another camp in Michigan in the summer time, so hopefully the kids come back.

Anyone got any exciting new years eve plans? Any exciting new years resolutions? Write in and let me know what they are! I've got a few myself, but I'll hold on to mine for now.

As for the day, it's going to be a pretty busy one. I've got to head over to the gym in a few minutes, then head up to the mall for a bit to pick up a few things, then start packing up my house for the move out west, then out to the girlfriend's house for dinner, and then home in bed! It's going to be a long one, but productive.

Oh yeah, is it making anyone else feel great to watch Grant Hill play basketball? I coouldn't be happier for the guy. He's healthy, playing well and looks like he's extremely happy, so keep doing you're thing Grant.

I'm reading a good book right now called Five Good Minutes, by Jeffrey Brantley and Wendy Millstine...It's a good one, you should check it out. It talks about way's to keep your focus all day long and things of that nature, it's pretty interesting.

That's about all I got for now, I'll get at you all soon.

Grant Hill And Wife Tamia Talk Love On Oprah

Breathe a sigh of relief guys who missed Grant Hill on Oprah yesterday. I know, the one day you don't watch religiously? Anyway, I watched as Oprah prodded the Hills to talk about their love (sans tears!) on her "greatest love stories" episode. Here is the interview:

Grant Hill, Mom Battle It Out On NBA Family Feud

Grant Hill and his mom, Janet (VP of a business consulting firm and sits on the board of Duke's business school) apparently loved Family Feud growing up. "It was our favorite show when Grant was a kid. When Grant was maybe from about 8-15 we would sit at dinner together every night and watch. We knew we could win Family Feud if we just had a big enough family. There are only three of us. Grant's an only child, I'm an only child and Calvin (Grant's former NFL player father...
