Manu Ginobili Getting Up More Shots ... All Over His Body

by Rob PetersonFiled under: Kings, Spurs, NBA InjuriesWhen it comes to protecting yourself from rabies, it seems as if hand sanitizer won't cut it.San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili -- three-time NBA champ, Olympic gold medalist, NBA All-Star, exterminator extraordinaire and scourge of PETA -- has been required to get shots for rabies because of his quick reflexes and a chance encounter with a bat on Saturday night."It was pretty funny at the time," Ginobili told the San Anto...

Robert Horry's Advice to Magic: Cut Off The Head of the Snake

by Tim PovtakFiled under: Lakers, Magic, PlayoffsORLANDO -- With seven championships rings - although he isn't sure where all of them are today - Robert Horry carries some weight when he talks about how to win an NBA title, and who might win the next one. Horry was asked this week if he had any advice to offer Magic coach Stan Van Gundy on what to do defensively against the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. Horry was a teammate of Bryant's when the Lakers won titles in 2000, '01 and '02...

Is Robert Horry a Hall of Famer?

Big Shot Rob certainly seems to think so: “Does he think he’ll go to the Hall of Fame? ‘To be honest with you I don’t think so. I think I should be because I’ve done a lot of great things in basketball. A lot of people look at the scoring aspect of basketball, they don’t look at the other things like defense, winning; I think I’m one of the most winningest players in this game. I’m a specialist in that I go out and make a team better; I was a specialist in playing D, I was a speci...

Robert Horry Proves a Point

Remember when Robert Horry said he was smarter than 98% of the NBA? Given the propensity of basketball players to get arrested lately, joining up with a website that provides legal services seems pretty prudent. Robert Horry wins again. He always does.

Robert Horry Enters NBA History Books

Yesterday, Robber Horry played in his 237th playoff game, tying the all-time record held by Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. While he's been a roleplayer for the majority of his career, nobody can downplay his downright deadly clutch shooting. A couple teams owe their rings to Robert...

Bill Russell, Sam Jones, and Robert Horry??

After watching Robert Horry celebrate once again in the middle of the hardwood floor during the finals in June, I decided to search and find just who else has amassed as many rings in the NBA. Bill Russell and Sam Jones built quite a dynasty for the Celtics during their years in Boston, and there are no two players who have combined for more rings together in the NBA, and perhaps in any other sport?

1. Bill Russell 11
2. Sam Jones 10
3. Tom Heinsohn 8
4. KC Jones 8
5. Satch Sanders 8
6. John Havlicek 8
7. Frank Ramsey 7
8. Robert Horry 7

So where does this leave "Big Shot" Bob in terms of Hall of Fame status, or is he even worthy of being in the NBA's greatest 100?

Basketball no matter who you talk to is always described as a "team game". No one player can win a ring on his own. Russell and Jones among the others on this list did mostly win all their rings together. However, Horry too has played with top talent like, Shaq, Duncan, Olajuwon, etc....

Is just being a role player "slash" good teamate enough to have you be considered one of the best of all time?

Robert Horry Real American Bonehead (Audio Version)

The guys over at Sports 620 KTAR and the Gambo and Ash show have given us yet another great Suns playoff audio clip. This is a parody of the Budweiser "Real Men of Genius" and it names Robert Horry as the most hate ex-Sun of all time. Take a listen I'm sure you will get a chuckle out of it.
