Initial Bulls Media Day link dump

Not much news, lots of talk about defense.
Perhaps the most interesting thing I saw in my scan of media day reactions is that Jerome James is alive, and wants to play basketball. That's technically not good news, from and 'insured contract' standpoint.
I'll give a proper write-up over the weekend, but in the meantime:

Mike McGraw, Daily Herald
Doug Thonus, ChicagoNow ("Everything is in place for this special year". HOSE THIS MAN DOWN!)
Joel Brigham, Hoopsw...

Top 10 Worst NBA Free Agent Signings of the Past Decade

Ball Don’t Lie has a great post today that breaks down the 10 worst NBA free agent signings of the past 10 years - beyond just the obvious Jerome James nonsense.
You look at the list and you can’t help just shaking your head at some of the numbers paid out to guys who, for [...]

The Most Bloated Contract of the Offseason

The competition for the annual Jerome James award for the most bloated offseason signing is really heating up.
While the Blazers are balking at a five-year max deal for the face of their franchise Brandon Roy, other teams are offering truckloads of cash to bench players.

Some squads have thankfully come to their senses. Philly isn’t going [...]

Bulls Looking To Move Up In Draft?

A recent report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports suggests that the Bulls are looking at trading their 16th and 26th picks to the New Jersey Nets for the 11th pick in this year's draft. I'm not sure if that's the best idea, since they could probably get two serviceable picks with what they have now. The 11th pick could get them a better player, but I doubt whoever they would get would end up being a significant improvement over the combined package of the 16th and 26th pick...

Intrepid poster 'Tommy Udo 6' on the RealGM board managed to get an answer from NBA cap guru Larry Coon regarding Jerome James' (he of the likely medical retirement and insurance paying 80% of his salary next season) cap impact on the Bulls.

The salary counts [towards the salary cap]. It doesn't matter whether insurance i...

Don't Worry: Isiah Can't Overpay College Players

You'd think people would have learned their lesson about putting Isiah Thomas in charge of things. His Indiana Pacers teams underachieved, he burned down the Continental Basketball Association, and, well, we all saw what he did to the Knicks. The mentality that it takes to give Jerome James $29 million or trade three draft pick and three players for "Sixth Helping" Eddy Curry, deserves to be questioned at every turn.

But that won't be a problem at Florida International Uni...

True Value

What recession? Jerome James, now with the Bulls, has played for five minutes of NBA action this year, all in one game on December 19, a 24-point loss to the Bucks. His take for that work: $6.2 million dollars, or over $1 million a minute, and in all likelihood, about 2 to 3 times the lifetime ...

Larry Hughes Traded To The Knicks

While the first domino to fall with the Bulls dropped yesterday when the team sent Drew Gooden and team mascot Andres Nocioni to the Sacramento Kings for Brad Miller and John Salmons -- a trade I like -- there was still the question of what the team planned on doing with Larry Hughes. Hughes has ...
Jerome James: A New York Nightmare

Over the past 7 years, the New York Knicks have been a model for futility and bad management. From horrible trades and overpriced free agents, to the occasional foreign center who got a facial from Vince Carter is scared of the United States, the Knicks have gone from being THE most feared team in the NBA to a perennial laughing stock. Nobody on the current Knicks roster exemplifies our inability to make good decisions than the one and only Jerome “Two Games” James.

Quick Pic: Chris Duhon in "There Will Be Blood"

Chris Duhon was cut and required nine stitches after colliding with Rashad McCants during the Knicks horrible, awful, disgustingly hard-to-watch loss to the 4-win Timberwolves at the Garden Friday night.
I think this is the first productive thing Jerome James(left) has done in his Knicks career. (... ...

Top 25 Bums in the NBA........

Heres a list of my top 25 bums in the NBA....after the first three it was randomized....Ratings based on how pathetic they are and believe me they are pathetic...This list is thankful to the gr8 efforts made by Jerome James on the court and Jason Collins as well.. Sadly enough both dont have much of a presence in the game anyway, for Jerome he hasnt been on the court since the first Bush was in Office...ANd Collins well hes just a waste of space on the court.

Reason I did this article, is I see so many good players out in the streets, especially bigmen who are far better than what the NBA has put out with these lethargic and desireless centers who spend more time on the injured list and in the clubs than actually playing....This goes onto an argument I had prior on some article why its embarrasing athletes get paid more than some other professions like doctors what not...But thats just my opinion....

Too lazy to explain all but as time goes on I will...Enjoy

Jerome James is a Million-Dollar-a-Minute Man...Drink That In

Jerome James is making more than a million bucks/minute this season. Don't ask us why we chose today to wallow in this miserable realization, just think about it. In all honesty, we were pondering compiling a definitive list of all those around the league collecting obscene paychecks for showing up in a suit and sitting on the bench. Being Knicks fans, Jerome was the first one that came to mind...and we simply couldn't get beyond the numbers...
