The 6-2, 225-pound guard Fred Jones has agreed to terms with the Italian team Biella Angelico. American has officially agreed to a one-year deal. In 2004 Jones won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, beating out ex-champion Jason Richardson. Jones was a member of the Indiana Pacers, the Toronto Raptors, the Portland Trail Blazers, the New York Knicks and last season he played in Los Angeles for the Clippers. The Clippers had a horrible year. They were suppose to be more than just a playoff contender. Fred Jones is a free agent and Ricky Davis has a players option. I doubt he will leave. The Clippers have the first overall pick and will take Blake Griffin. I'm not sure when Stephon Marbury found the time to get his medical degree, but it appears that he will be ordering himself to go under the knife. Marbury will be receiving an MRI today after missing the Knicks' last 3 games with pain in his foot. He told the media that if bone spurs are found on his ankle, he'll have surgery to remove to remove them.

Eddy Curry's lip was hitting the floor because he was so tired...............David Lee had splinters in his ass from sitting on the bench for so long...........Then I couldn't believe my eyes but Fred Jones entered the game. Knicks within five with 7:22 left to play in the game, Isiah actually (and finally) benched Eddy Curry for ineffectiveness because of lazy play. Here comes David Lee.............

Well, you can say this about James Dolan and his cronies at Madison Square Garden: they know how to put on a press conference. Today, the Knicks and Rangers held successive news conferences at their joint training facility in Greenburgh, NY. The Rangers introduced Scott Gomez and Chris Drury, while the Knicks introduced Zach Randolph, Fred Jones, and Dan Dickau.

You can say this about Isiah Thomas: He doesn't do things half-way. As has been the case with the majority of Zeke's moves as general manager of the Knicks, this could be one of the best deals of this NBA offseason or one of the absolute worst. Unfortunately for Knicks fans, more often than not Isiah's wheelings and dealings have blown up in his face. In this latest blockbuster, the Knicks are acquiring a monster in the paint with a spotty record off the court. Whether Zeke can get the 25-year old problem child to straighten out his life and focus on basketball is just one of the hurtles the Knicks will have to clear in the wake of Randolph's acquisition. The other, and perhaps more significant, is whether there's enough room in the paint for both Randolph and Eddy Curry to coexist. The team faced similar questions when Steve Francis was first acquired to play in the backcourt with Stephon Marbury, and the experiment turned out to be a disaster. While I'm not convinced the Knicks are facing similar ruin in this instance, Knicks fans should brace for some major growing pains as these two young big man adjust to one another. The odds are certainly against it, however there is potential here for a dynamic frontcourt unparalleled in the Eastern Conference, if not the league.
