A PtR Moment: Manu's drive & assist to Blair vs OKC

This is the first of a series I hope to continue throughout the season. I love beautifully executed basketball. It's well thought-out, fun to watch unfold, and often results in an easy bucket. Whenever I see a play like this, I love to watch it over and over. Soaking in the subtleties. Noticing the smallest details and how they each contribute to making the play what it is -- a gorgeous display of mental acuity and physical skill blended together with preparation, teamwork and a heavy...

European Championships, Day 3

by Dan Casey
Our final day from the Torwar Arena – we only planned this as a short break, and it worked out well for us as the British team limped out with a lackluster display and a 59-77 defeat. Nenad Krstic and Milenko Tepic led the Serbs with 17 points each while the British had 21 points from guard Nate Reinking and 16 points from Pops Mensah-Bonsu but unfortunately, not much else.
Further evidence of Slovenia’s fan domination was that the two games were flip-flopped so that Sloven...

Nets News And Notes

Some Nets tidbits, for those of you who follow the team:
Sean Williams, the Nets? first-round pick back in 2007, has seen very little playing time with the team, so they sent him to their D-League team, the Colorado 14ers (what?s a 14er?).? With Colorado, Williams is expected to learn how to play the perimeter - [...]

Rough Road Continues For One Swamp Man

A Daily Babble Production

As late as the end of the 2006 calendar year, it looked as though the New Jersey Nets were finding themselves a power forward who would be a key building block for the future.

It also looked as though a young Serbian import was going to be set to earn himself a sizable chunk of change in the summer of 2008.

Less than a year and a half later, Nenad Krstic looks just as likely to be on the verge of serving as another cautionary tale of the horrors of lon...

Pickup of the Night: March 24

HAKIM WARRICK
10-13 from the field. 7-8 from the line. 2 threes. 29 points. 7 rebounds. 3 steals. Wow. With lines that like from players every night, you could easily win 6 categories in a H2H league. The Grizzlies have given up on this year but are still playing hard (because they're young and don't know any better). Warrick is a prime example of this. Gobble him up if you get the chance.
