Let's start this by offering the thoughts and prayers of the Bruin Nation for former UCLA head coach Jim Harrick. Mrs. Sally Harrick (who I will always remember smiling away in Seattle) passed away today (per Bill...

Well, every time I think I have a good handle on things, something happens to prove otherwise. I didn't think they would do it, but today the Clippers waived Mark Madsen.
We've mentioned multiple times that both Madsen and Ricky Davis were decent candidates to be waived if the team needed another roster spot. ...

Mark Madsen Caught In A Web Of Cyber Intrigue

You may have seen the item on a man who hacked markmadsen.com in order to sell it to White Vanilla himself. But it's worth delving into it to debate just what is the most insane part of this story. Daniel Goncalves of north Jersey hacked into the account of one of the owners of the domain name, and shifted ownership to himself. He then put the URL up on eBay, where it was purchased by Madsen himself for more than $100k. Goncalves was arrested and charged with theft, identity theft, and co...

Mark Madsen: Internet Domain Name Salesman

Hey, the man’s gotta keep busy somehow: “In a strange series of events befitting the shady world of domain name speculation, New Jersey state police arrested a man on suspicion of stealing the rights to p2p.com and selling them to Los Angeles Clipper forward Mark Madsen. Daniel Gonclave, 25, of Union, N.J., is suspected of hacking into the GoDaddy.com account of p2p.com’s previous owner, transferring ownership to himself and then selling it to Madsen on eBay for $111,000. A...

Mark Madsen Quite a Web Mogul

by Tom ZillerFiled under: Clippers, TimberwolvesThe bizarre connection of Clippers forward Mark Madsen to the nation's first-ever arrest for domain name theft initially left more questions than answers. First of all, what in the lord's name is Madsen doing purchasing domain names on eBay for $111,000? Is this something Madsen does often?Yes, actually. Madsen seems to be quite an internet mogul.Mark Madsen Quite a Web Mogul originally appeared on Fanhouse NBA Blog on Mon, 03 Aug 2009 1...

Mark Madsen Will Purchase Your Illegal eBay Crap

My big Mark Madsen memory was his dunk against Rhode Island that sealed the deal and powered Stanford to the NCAA Final Four in 1998. His subsequent NBA career has been somewhat unremarkable, however, except for an unfortunate epileptic fit he humorously described as “dancing” while a member of the Lakers a few years back [...]

Mark Madsen Purchased Allegedly Stolen Domain Name for $100,000 on eBay

by Tom ZillerFiled under: Clippers, NBA Police BlotterJust when you think you have figured out the NBA, a Clipper gets tangled in a stolen domain name scandal. Based on an Associated Press report, 25-year-old Daniel Goncalves of New Jersey allegedly hacked into a web account belonging to the owner of the domain P2P.com. (P2P stands for peer-to-peer, the common terminology for direct file sharing and content streaming on the web.)Goncalves changed the ownership of the domain, and put it up for...

Trading Places: Grading the Deal.

Mark Madsen invented the Jerk Dance before it was the Jerk Dance.
As much as I would've liked Q-Rich to stay for sentimental reasons, the truth is, he wasn't likely going to contribute much. I feel for him, but alas the NBA is a business, and well, Dunleavy has been doing a fine job as a GM the past two offseasons(now if only he could coach). His latest caper was trading Quentin Richardson to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Craig Smith and Mark Madsen. Here are my...

Mark Madsen's Lakers parade memories are just a dance away

Best known for his interesting, um, "dance" technique, the former Laker shares his memories of his two Lakers title parades.

Mark Madsen of the Minnesota Timberwolves started his NBA career with the Lakers. He was the Lakers' No. 1 draft pick in 2000, was part of their championship teams in 2001 and 2002, and became a cult favorite for his dancing and memorable speeches at the championship parade both years. "No wonder they called him the Mad Dog," said Chick H...

Somewhere Mark Madsen Is Crying

Goofy, gawky white guys lose control of themselves once they grace the stage at Memorial Coliseum to collect their trophies. Pau Gasol shows off his patented ostrich two-step and Kobe laughs at the Haters during today's public celebration. But wait! Maybe Mark Madsen is not weeping. No, in fact he's reminiscing about that joyful day in 2001 when he stole America's heart with his clumsy clompity-clomping on stage during Shaq's victory rap. To Dana Belevedere, no less, who asked...

LOS ANGELES, CA — Reserve Lakers center Mark Madsen is facing a lot of criticism today after a passerby noticed him in the Los Angeles Public Library, checking out a Playboy magazine from the clerk at the periodicals stand.

Mark Madsen Is a Poor Dork

A few things you notice when you read Mark Madsen's blog: 1) Madsen is a dork. Here's how he starts one of his posts: "In warmups before the game Sammy [Cassell] told me I needed a haircut. I told him I would get him a bottle of Rogaine for his bald head. We both had a good laugh out of it." 2) He has Google ads on his site. I guess he needs the money. 3) Madsen is predicting that Randy Foye will be a huge superstar.
