The New Orleans Hornets re-sign Sean Marks

The Hornets have re-signed 34-year old C/F Sean Marks to a 1-year deal. Marks played in 60 games (5 starts) for the Hornets last season and he averaged 14.0 minutes, 3.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. He has now played in 187 games (11 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 10.6 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. This was a good depth signing for the Hornets as Marks should be able to give them some solid minutes off the bench.

Deep Thoughts with "Smiling" Sean Marks

I am so happy to have escaped the beautiful city of Toronto for the sweltering heat of Miami. For this, I happily dunk.I am quite obviously insane, yet still employed by an NBA team. Though clearly psychotic, I have a championship ring. For this, I giddily dunk. I have grown my hair out to appear more Nowitzki-ish. It looks pretty flowing. For this, I cheerfully dunk. I am fortunate to play with the previous best point guard in basketball, and now the current best point guard in basketball. T...

Hornets re-sign Sean Marks

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have re-signed free agent center Sean Marks. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not released.
“We’re very pleased to re-sign Sean due to his ability to provide a low post presence off the bench and how well he fit in with our team,” said Hornets General [...]

UPDATE: Your Wizards Big Man Free Agent Targets

UPDATE: Your Wizards Big Man Free Agent Targets
Chris Wilcox, Sean Marks, Fabricio Oberto, Jamaal Magloire and Mikki Moore.

Excited yet Wizards fans?

I'd be 'content' with Marks or Oberto.

Wilcox? Talented, but fairly questionable as a team player. I'll leave it to Grunfeld & Co. to judge if he's motivated -- he's still young (27 in September), so he should be.

Mikki Moore. Heck no. He's been sort of our ideal free-agency Antichrist here on B...

Just before the storm, as you may have noticed, the Hornets pumped their roster up to 14 men by signing journeyman, Sean Marks, who is a forward/center standing at 6?10? and weighing 250 lbs. He's been in the league for nine years with career averages of 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 9.1 minutes [...]

The New Orleans Hornets sign C/F Sean Marks

The Hornets have signed C/F Sean Marks. Marks is a 32-year old journeyman who will likely sit at the end of the bench for the Hornets this season. He played in 19 games (0 starts) for the Suns last season and he averaged 6.8 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. Marks has nice size at 6′10″, 250 pounds but he’s a tad soft. Marks has now played in 127 games (6 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 9.1 minutes, 3.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.2 ass...

Nowhere to Go but Up

Were Coach D and Steve Nash right all along? Are the Suns really in a late season training camp where kinks have to be worked out, tendencies learned and strategy rethought? If that's the case, the last three games are evidence the Suns have broken camp.

Sunday afternoon the Suns got their biggest win of the season and got the 12:30-start monkey off their back with physical and mental toughness against the Spurs. Tuesday brought the Grizzlies to town for a glorified scrimmage/ritual sa...

Suns (3-1) dominate Bobcats to begin Southeast trip

The Phoenix Suns beat, well actually crushed, the Charlotte Bobcats 115-83 to improve their season record to 3-1. The Suns were always in control of this game as they outscored Charlotte in each quarter of the game. Phoenix played very good defense, especially in the first half holding the Bobcats scoreless for almost 5 minutes in the second quarter. Suns shot an excellent 50% (45-90) from the field while Charlotte had to settle for a not so good 36.6% (30-82). The good defensive effort is al...
