1991 NBA Draft Remix

by Jeff Fox
Maybe it’s our fault for having unreasonable expectations. Maybe it’s the players’ fault for not working hard enough and capitalizing on their talents. Maybe it’s The Fates fault, causing the players untimely injuries or death. Whatever the reason, the 1991 NBA Draft class was a disappointment (besides that finger-wagging Congolese center).
Back injuries cut Larry Johnson’s career (and effectiveness) short. Kenny Anderson became just another overhyped...

Checking in on Dikembe Mutombo’s Rehab

It certainly doesn’t sound like the big fella is having a whole lot of fun with it: “It’s not easy man. A lot of work. It takes a lot of dedication going to the gym, working out, spending more than an hour on the bike everyday. It’s not easy but I’m trying my best. I just want to be able to walk.”

Dikembe Mutombo: "I Just Want to Be Able to Walk."

A shocking bit of insight from the legendary big man Dikembe Mutombo, who is still rehabbing from his career-ending ruptured tendon in April. (By the way, Mutombo was called for a foul on the play.) Can only wish that classiest of NBA players the best of luck in achieving a full recovery as quickly as possible.

March Madness pools luring sociopaths out of the woodwork

Back in 2007, the Sports Hernia obtained one of the more interesting NCAA tourney brackets to date, and because of that woman's sheer desperation and outright cry for help,
we were inspired to find more. Some of the early returns include
strange brackets from that "bitter IT guy" in your office, a creepy man
from New York, some dude that hearts Duke, as well as what appears to
be Dikembe Mutombo. Enjoy...
