A. Boldin to be an Eagle ?

Anquan Boldin to be an Eagle?

SI.com's Peter King believes that Anquan Boldin won't be a Cardinal next season and that the Giants and Eagles are possible trade partners with Arizona.

The Eagles and Giants, two receiver-needy teams, are in position to deal for Anquan Boldin, who I continue to say will not be a Cardinal by July. Philly has 21, 28 and 53, the Giants 29, 45 and 60. I find it hard to believe the Eagles won't trade for Boldin. Very hard. He's a pe...

Evaluating the Eagles: Part III

Now is the time to analyze the most scrutinized position on the Eagles. The wide receivers. Despite a quality addition to the corps, the “upgrade the receivers” chant can still be heard loud and clear.
Wide Receivers:
DeSean Jackson - Let’s start with some good news. Jackson was a pleasant surprise since his day one arrival. The [...]

On the Tube: Crazy Madden 09 kick return

While perusing YouTube as I sometimes do, I came across this little gem of a video. It's a little nerdy, yes, but it's a clip of the virtual DeSean Jackson going John Elway's Quarterback on a bunch of defenders in Madden 09.

How well do you know DeSean Jackson?

Jackson already turned heads in his first game as a pro. If you are a Philadelphia Eagles, Cal Bears, or DeSean Jackson fan, these questions should be pretty easy. How well can you do?

DeSean Jackson Week 2 Preseason Highlights (7 catches, 71 yards)

Some commentary on the rookie speedster: "One Eagle that I can't wait to see more of tonight is DeSean Jackson." "He's just a special player." "He does not play the game like a rookie." Those statements cannot be more true. DeSean Jackson continues to impress. He had 7 receptions for 71 yards last night. Here are his highlights from the game.

Philadelphia Eagles: Good Performance or Bad Performance Against the Steelers?

So Monday it is back to work. It is your first chance to dissect and discuss the Eagles-Steelers game with your co-workers.

Is everyone in agreement that McNabb looked sharp, Jackson was impressive in his debut, that everyone turned off their TV sets with a general feeling of happiness with the Eagles performance? Mark me down as a yes on all three counts.

My boss, well mark him down as a no on all three counts. He thinks we all are being a little too Dave Spadaro-like in our evaluation...

Video: Eagles/Steelers Preseason Highlights

If you missed last night's opening preseason game, here are some highlights. DeSean Jackson really impressed in his debut. He had 5 receptions for 51 yards and one spectacular catch from McNabb, which you can see in the highlight package. Steelers won 16-10.

DeSean Jackson - The Main Attraction

Could training camp once again have a T.O. atmosphere? Will all eyes be fixated on the moves, the everything of one player? Does someone on the Eagles have such moxy?

Reports have that one person as rookie DeSean Jackson. Despite being only a few days into training camp practices, Jackson is already winning some praise from McNabb and the coaches on his performance.

From interviews one can see that Jackson is overflowing with confidence in his abilities. His career at Cal backs up the w...

And when, exactly, did the Big Ten ask for your advice?

Sean Jackson, one of these CFN bloggers, had a coherent (that was about it) write up on how the Big Ten can be better in 2008. Now, I won't get into the fact that he's just one of the many talking about the Big Ten as if it's the MAC or even the Big East circa 2004. Jackson just made some fundamental mistakes in his assessment of the conference going into 2008, mistakes which should have been, at the very least, addressed by CFN before publishing the article.

On Tour

Took another stop on my tour with Novartis talking about hypertension and high blood pressure.

After stops in Syracuse and Chicago, I found myself in Harrisburg, the capitol of Pennsylvania. After a few media hits it was on to the Capitol Building to meet with some politicians and their constituents.

While there we barged into the Governor's office. Ed Rendell was gracious enough to invite me, my parents, and our group into his office. After that, we were invited to the floor of the House of Representatives. Note to all PA residents: You are all well represented as there were just as many Steelers fans as Eagles fans amongst the politicians.

While we were there to talk about hypertension, you might imagine there were more than a few questions about football. Here are a few of the more popular ones along with my responses.

Q: Did the team do enough this offseason to compete for a Super Bowl?

A: We have enough to compete right now. If there is a chance to continue improving our roster after June 1 than we should look at that too.

Q: Without any new offensive weapons, how will the team improve this year?

A: Having L.J. Smith healthy is a good start. We need to be more productive in the Red Zone and that's a part of the field where the tight end is crucial. When L.J. was hurt last year we seemed to get away from that too much.

Q: What about DeSean Jackson?

A: He impressed me with his speed and ability to catch the ball. Hopefully he will be able to shorten the field for us with his return ability on special teams, and stretch the field on offense with his speed.

The Worst College Football Fans in America

Last week, I went to the Cal-UCLA game expecting the Bears to come into the Rose Bowl and walk out with a convincing victory. Before the game I had thought Cal was one of the best teams in the country, with DeSean Jackson, one of the best players in the country. I left the game convinced this season was the spawn of Satan. I also left the game appalled with UCLA fans.

At halftime I watched as hundreds of fans left the game. The score was 14-13 Cal. What person in their right mind would leave a game at halftime, not only that, why would someone leave that early during a good game?

I was so furious I decided to dedicate this week's 7 in '07 to the worst fans in college football. I have scoured the internet, listened to personal accounts, and of course used some of my own personal biased to come up with the sorriest sack of seven in college football. And I'm not proud of it.

In no particular order:
