Being a spectator

Hey guys, it's been awhile!! I've been meaning to write on here for some time now, but kept getting sidetracked! Between flying overseas and last minute christmas shopping I was slammed. I do have a pretty good story though.....So I fly to Tahiti last week to do a demo there alongside Adam Jones, Dustin Miller, Nate Adams and some others. They were going to have BMX and skateboarding as well so I was pretty excited. So a week before the demo Adam and I were informed that there are no Honda 250's on the island so we would need to ship our bikes. So last minute me and Adam paid my dad to do a Los Angeles trip to drop off our bikes at the shipping yard, 7 days before the event. So we fly over there, 1st class I might add! The promoters really made sure they did it right so that was a good thing. Anyways we get there, check out the scene, do some snorkling and get sunburned. It was a cool first couple days. Well two days before the show me and Adam are informed that our bikes might not make it. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't all that bummed. I mean it sucks not to be able to put on a show for the fans down there, but it would be an actual vacation for once!! Well Friday, the day before the show it is a fact, our bikes will not be there, in fact they never even left LA haha! I guess it was 9,000 bucks one way to get them there and once the promoter found out they probably wouldn't make it he just canceled the shipment. So me and Adam basically got paid to have beers on a island!! It was also fun for once to check out the show minus the stress. I got to watch all my buddies ride and put on a good show and watch some killer BMX and skating!! Not a bad vacation!

I got back from the 85 degree Tahiti weather, right into a crazy snowstorm!! Talk about shock! I loved it though, we even got to have a white christmas today which is something I haven't witnessed in years!! Today was excellent, I love spending time with my family and friends, it's my best method of relaxing!! Tomorrow I am going to hit the mountains to do a little snowboarding and hang with my buds. This is my last weekend up north, Monday I head down to Vegas for a month to get back into the FMX mode and get ready for the New Zealand leg of the Crusty tour! I want to be on point in New Zealand, the Crusty guys have always been cool to me and they've put up with me for 2 years now so I really want to be riding at a 100% when I show up, hopefully even bring some new tricks to the show for the NZ fans!! Well I hope everyone had a merry christmas and got a lot of fun presents!! I'll keep in touch throughout my Vegas trip and let everyone know how the riding is coming along. I will also be doing some video blogs for expn.com starting in January, so keep checking in for those, it could be entertaining!!
Pacman Jones Reinstateda?"sort of. Will Actually play in 2 weeks.

All you Pacman fans get ready for your favorite rainmaker. Roger Goodell just gave the green light to Adam Jones' reinstatement, meaning he's served his penance for whatever he did this time (fighting his bodyguard, but who's keeping track anymore?). Even though the reinstatement was announced today, it takes effect 2 weeks from now when the Cowboys go to Pittsburgh on Dec 7.

Cry me a river

Another week down, another major contest down, and finally a week off!! I just got done riding the LG action sports contest in Pomona, Ca this weekend. LG is always my favorite contest of the year because the course's have always been super technical, something that helps my riding ability and hurts all the rookie kids that don't know how to ride very well. This years course was pretty damn hard, but very fun. It had lots of options, and dirt jumps which are always more fun and challenging compared to the standard competition ramp. It was also a format very similar to X games which was head to head. I like head to head because you can go up against anyone and have a chance. You're not giving guys 2 runs to sort out everything, you get one chance to ride your best or else you're out! A lot of the guys complain about it, but I think the complaints come from the guys who doubt their ability and need two tries to get the business done.

When the brackets came out, of course I was paired up with my best friend and travel mate for the weekend, Dustin Miller. Alls we could do is laugh about it and make little bets with one another. One bet was whoever won had to buy Del Taco on the way home, so in a way I didn't want to beat him, because I didn't want to fork out the whole 5 bucks that Del Taco would cost!! (Joking!!) Dustin actually made it really easy on me and messed up a couple tricks in his run, which I was bummed about. He's been on the comeback trail as of late and to be honest I really wanted him to ride good and show everyone in the industry that he can still compete with the best of them. I put in a decent run, kind of played it safe since Dustin messed up. It worked to my advantage and I moved on to the next round against.......my other good buddy Adam Jones!! Haha go figure! I knew pretty much from the get go that Adam had me covered, but I still went out and gave it a 100% because if I could move on I would have been no worse than 3rd, which I really wanted!! To no surprise though Adam got me and I was done for the night.

I quickly loaded up, finished up some TV work with Fuel and was on the road back to Reno at 11:30 P.M. I had to be back in time for football today!! On the drive back me and my mechanic and Dustin got to talking about what our sport had come too. I kind of feel distant from a lot of the riders because they are so competitive they tend to look at you as someone in their way to making it to the top, not a friend anymore. I hate that more than anything. I'm the guy who has always just enjoyed doing what I do. I like going to the contests and seeing everyone and riding with everyone, but now that vibe isn't there. Everyone is constantly bitching about how bad they got judged and thinking they should have won or been top three, and if you luck out and beat them like I usually do they take it personal and seem to be upset at me or anyone else that beat them. It's not our fault, we all go out and give it a 100% but at the end of the day it's 5 judges opinions, whatever their word is, I don't think it's fair to be upset with a rider/friend because he got the better end of the deal. It just bothers me to the point where I don't even like being around anyone at the contests, I don't need to hear everyone talk bad about everyone. This weekend I parked by out by myself and hung out with people that were fun and it kept me a lot less stressed and aggravated. That's just my take on it, but it for sure seems like in the last couple years this sport has taken a turn in the wrong direction, we are too small of a group to be like this.....

CARRY ON WITH YOUR TOPLESS PHOTOS

by Mr. E, Staff Writer In a day in age when cheerleaders cannot wear typical garb, we should be thankful for people like Justice Doris Leach-Cohan. Typically, judges are not our friends. And by "our," I mean assuming we're all Brandon Marshalls and Adam Jones'. But even the Pacmanand his posse would be thrilled with Ms. Leach-Cohan, because she's putting the topless in their place.
WARNING: LOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. MAY NEED SUNGLASSES.
This is what Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones wore to the Luncheon yesterday. Don't ask me. As I sit here at the airport awaiting my plane for my annual San Fransisco trip, I wonder how I would look in this suit. I've put on a few [...]

Roger Goodell has given Adam Jones a second chance in the NFL. This time, he will play for the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team.

Portland AST demo

I just got back from Portland for the AST dew action sports demo, and what can I say it was a damn good time! It was nice to show up to an event and have some fun riding with my friends instead of feeling like they all hate me. They invited out Beau Bamburg who is a local from the area and a bad ass rider, Robbie Maddison who is the current long distance record holder at almost 400ft, Adam Jones 2007 X games gold medalist, current points leader in the AST tour Blake "Bilko" Williams, and the Metal Mulisha's Derek Garland, as well as myself. I'd like to say that's a pretty good line up for a demo! The day started off a little sketchy when Beau Bamburg's bike cut out at the bottom of the ramp and he was forced to eject and smashed into the back of the landing, luckily he was ok, but he hurt his hand which sucked because he was going to play the National Anthem on the electric guitar to start the show, so I was pretty bummed about that!

Everything else went smooth, they ran some pairs contests where would try to pretend we didn't like each other and we wanted to beat one another really bad and then we ended it with some very unorganized trains haha. Bilko's bike wouldn't clear one of the ramps very good so he was forced to pull off most of the time which messed all of us up and made us basically ride around on the floor looking clueless, and let me tell you I'm a pro when it comes to looking clueless! When all was said and done, I had a blast! We got to sign some autographs for the fans and I even took a picture and signed a autograph for a girl who is a fan of what I do here on YB, so that was killer!! Well this is pretty much my last week at home, I turn the big 27 on Wednesday so that should be interesting. After that it's off to Poland for X fighters, then I'm doing a Golf tournament up in Reno and then the Salt Lake round of the AST dew tour so I got a busy couple weeks coming up!! I'll be sure to keep everyone posted of course!! Take care!!

Time off

Hey guys, I'm sitting here on my couch kind of hungover from the weekend, so I decided this was the perfect time to send in a blog. This was my last week I was going to take off so I figured I would have some fun with it. We started with a very random Wednesday night dance party. It started out in my band room, we decided to have some beers and play our instruments, and one thing led to another. Once we were done jamming some random techno came onto my Ipod so we all got up and started dancing around and that set the tone for the night. The last clear memory I have was me and my roomate's slamming a beer and then getting down with some M.C. Hammer!!

We recovered on Thursday, kept it low key and then Friday was 80's night at my good buddy Adam Jones' house. I did my best to dress up like a dirty 1980's cowboy. Luckily I had a beard so I shaved it into a nice sideburn/goatee combo. I chose to drink regular Coors on this night because I felt it suited my outfit better than Coors Light. I hustled some people in beer pong, played some badmitten, and then once again was out on the dance floor cutting up some rug. The downfall to this was I was in cowboy boots, so the next day my feet were killing me!! All in all it was a damn good time and I'm glad we all could let off some steam after all the hardwork we put out in July.

Tomorrow it is back to work, back to 7 am wakeup calls and hammering down on the practice course so I can finish the last contests on a positive note!! I just got word that I got invited to the Poland round of the Red Bull X-fighters, I will be teamed up with my podium teammates from X, Jeremy Lusk and Mat Rebeaud to compete in FMX, Quarter pipe challenge and Step up. This is the first time they have done a team format contest so I'm pumped to have two of the worlds best on my side!! That's all from my side for now, I'm getting back to watching the Patriots-Bucaneers presason game!!

Vegas bound

Well it is officially one week until I will be in LA riding my first practice of X games 14. The reality that it is almost here sunk in yesterday when I drove out to my practice spot for the last time before X. I had a decent session with everyone and then had to load up and head to the airport to fly to LA. Fox had a grand opening to their new building in Irvine so they invited us out to check out the building and make small talk with all the big wigs. On the way to the building we were driving down the 405 and we saw the sign for the Home Depot center and it said X games was coming to town, me and Adam Jones got instant sweaty palms realizing in a week we will be in there battling for medals. After a fun night with the Fox crew it was a 6 am wakeup call to get back to LAX and head to Reno. Once I got home I did nothing but handle business and get in a bad mood haha. I am notorious for putting everything off until the day before I leave, so needless to say I spent all day playing catch up on everything. Tomorrow we hop in the RV and head down to Vegas to stay and practice with Carey Hart. Carey's tattoo shop (Hart and Huntington tattoo) has been a sponsor of mine for about three years now, and now Carey has a full practice course out by his place so it works out perfect!!. It's nice to get out of your comfort element and practice on a unfamiliar setup the week before a big contest. Anyways that is about all the news I have as of now. I will get a blog up in a couple days and keep you guys posted on how much fun I am having in Vegas in the 100+ degree heat!!!! Toodles!!!

RIP "Pacman" Jones

Unfortunately it has been reported by Adam Schefter that Adam "Pacman" Jones doesn't want to be known as Pacman any more, and will publicly request to the media later this week to just be known as Adam Jones. It is a smart move on his part as it will distance himself from his troubled past. But for all of his fans, it's time to look back and reflect on what was. Before he was suspended by the league last year, Jones was becoming one of the better young corners in the league....
