Game Time: 7:00 p.m. Pacific TV: Comcast SportsNorthWest
In the recap of Sunday's win against the Thunder I said that humidity was thickening around this team right now. You get the same feeling as when you step outside before an impending thunderstorm. Lightning is in the air somewhere. You just don't know when or where it's going to strike. This is not to say that the Blazers themselves are tense...though if things don't c...

What’s in your profile?

There's no identity crisis for Hawks swingman Marvin Williams. He knows exactly who he is. But what do other think of the starting small forward? Find out inside.

HAWKSVILLE – The questions rolled off the tongue much easier than the answer.
I asked Marvin Williams the other day, “Who are you as a player, what’s your profile around the league?”
After rubbing his head for a second and smiling, Williams looked me dead in the eye and said, “I don’t worry ...

Atlanta Hawks re-sign Marvin Williams : InsideHoops
For what it's worth, let's take a quick look at these numbers bearing in mind the Clippers trade exception. Williams is reported to have signed for 5/$37.5M. With a $7.3M trade exception plus the $100K cushion in the CBA, the Clippers could have started him at $7.4M. With 10.5% increases, the Clippers could have offered 5/$45.6M by my math. That's $8M more than he got from the Hawks. Would they have gone that high? Hard to ...

Last night, we said the Hawks and Marvin Williams had a deal. This morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said close, but no cigar. The numbers are supposedly about the same as those in the DONE!!! report, but the sides are still staring at each other from across the proverbial table.

What got lost in my initial post, besides the fact that the deal hadn't been closed yet, was how strange it was that the Hawks continually allow their stud youngsters to test the waters of restricted fr...

Hawks Inking Marvin Williams to $40 Million Deal

Atlanta is reportedly very close to locking up its forward to a large deal: “Free-agent forward Marvin Williams said via text message Wednesday that a Yahoo! Sports report that he has reached agreement to remain a Hawk is premature but admitted the sides are ‘close.’ Hawks general manager Rick Sund wouldn’t comment on the negotiations Wednesday, but Williams told the AJC via text he would be in Atlanta next week for face-to-face talks.
Hawks Keep Marvin Williams

by Tom ZillerFiled under: Hawks, NBA TransactionsThe Hawks played hardball this summer with restricted free agent Marvin Williams, just as the Hawks do with most restricted free agents. Last year, Atlanta GM Rick Sund allowed Josh Smith to hang in the RFA win, only bringing the electric forward back when Memphis got Smith to sign a reasonable offer sheet. It didn't come to that this season -- Marvin apparently talked to no other team seriously -- but it still worked out for Atlanta.

Marvin Williams doesn't have a new deal yet, but it should be a slam dunk with both sides clear on what it's going to take to get it done.
HAWKSVILLE - The word spreading around the NBA summer league in Las Vegas is that Marvin Williams and the Hawks have agreed to terms on a new deal (so say our friends at hoopsworld.com).
That would be news to Williams.

HOME SWEET HOME

Home sweet home. There’s nothing like being home. Home makes everything right. Everything is good. I"m blessed. I dont know where to start. Well yea I do. March 8, 2009, Mackenzi Kaylee Law ya dig!!! 7 lbs 10 ozs and she's a reflection of me. She's even hairy like me. My big homey Hustle said we mixed with Clydesdale, but he a hater. She so little, all she does is eat, sleep, and hiccup lol. I can say it’s truly a blessing to be a father.

Now back to basketball. We have won 5 in a row, and we"ve beaten some pretty good teams too. Just call us the streak busters. We stopped Detroit, Utah, and beat a good Portland team. We play extremely well at home, and all this is without Marvin. If Joe keeps playing like this we will be a problem in the playoffs. We got to get that number four seed. I feel if we host the first round we have a greater chance of going to the second round or even further. This time of the year is always exciting for basketball fans.

Oh. Im doing my college bracket. Congrats to Texas A&M for doing it again. That's my alma mater and all, but I feel like when it’s all said and done Pitt will be cutting down the nets. I wanna know how you guys feel about it. Let me know who will make the final four, who will get upset, and who will win. Til the next time my good peoples..Be blessed.

Sunday, my teammates Marvin Williams, Mario West, and myself had event called Kicks and Flicks. We took about 80 kids to the movies to watch Madagascar2. All the kids had popcorn, soda, and a bag of skittles, and then they just laughed and enjoyed the movie. After the movie we took them to dinner to one of the near by restaurants. We served them hot dogs, burgers, chips, soda, with dessert. During that time we all interacted with the kids, talk and got personal with them to build a relationship. Every child got a pair of shoes, autographs and pictures from us for the holidays. I really enjoy hanging out with the kids; as long as I can put a smile on their faces I'm happy.

Marvin Williams Flagrant Foul Recap

Interesting recap on the Jazz' Rafael Araugo fouling the Hawks Marvin Williams late in the game with Utah up by 34. The Lion in Oil blog has video from an extremely non-PC Jazz fan and also the readio call from Hawks broadcaster, Steve Holman. Some of this falls into the Tim Hardaway category of putting your foot in your mouth.
