Chris Bosh's Groin Is Probably Sore Today

Paul Pierce posterized Chris Bosh on a dunk during Boston's 116-103 victory over Toronto yesterday. In the process, Pierce kneed Bosh in the groin and then was assessed a foul for taunting. And no Raptors teammate appeared to care. Bosh expressed his frustration at the lack of support displayed by his fellow Raptors after the incident, telling Toronto Star reporter Dave Feschuk (via FanHouse): "Yeah, I'd like to see the team more passionate. I look at their bench and they&#39...

Game Notes: Detroit vs. Toronto

Sure, the story of the game is the Raptors bench helping the team gut out a big win so there's some great audio from Jarrett Jack, Antoine Wright and Amir Johnson in these Games Notes. So why is there a picture of a player who didn't even suit up in the game? Because the big news in these Game Notes is the audio clip we scored before the game of Rip Hamilton doing a little rap freestyle for us. Trust me, this is something you want to hear.

Could There Be Another Trade?

Well, I'm basing this on nothing that relevent. Bryan Colangelo never introduced Antoine Wright nor Devean George. But, he has said that he plans on keeping Wright because he is added toughness and defense.
After, talks with Rick Carlsile who said that Wright was probably the toughest player on the Dallas team and was the best perimeter defender(yes, that means better than josh howard). He also talked with Triano who says he wants Wright on the team. So, that's mus...

Well, that really sucked. Dallas is down 3-0. The 08/09 season will most likely be over in the next week. And as hard as I I try to focus on the other aspects of the game and series that got Dallas to this point, all I can think of is Antoine Wright, Carmelo Anthony, and Mark Wunderlich.
There's no doubt Wright fouled Carmelo. It&#39...

The Mavericks had a four point lead with 31 seconds left, but somehow, despite knowing that a loss would all but eliminate them from the playoffs, they managed to choke it away like dogs. But of course Mark Cuban and his boys have a built-in excuse: Antoine Wright was trying to foul Carmelo Anthony before [...]

Twitter's Impact on the NBA

So Twitter is the new social media craze that is sweeping the United States and the rest of the world for that matter. While bloggers have utilized Twitter for almost three years now, many of the sports figures that those bloggers follow are now getting involved in the Twitter craze. By now many of us have seen the the many Tweets of Shaq, who seems to be the Godfather of athletes on Twitter. Well as of today, another popular NBA personality has gotten bit by the Twitter bug, and this time it bit back.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was fined $25,000 by the NBA Monday morning because of a tweet he left earlier this week. Thanks to Twitter, Cuban has found a new medium to speak with his fans and more importantly criticize NBA officials. unfortunately for Cuban, David Stern's office has eyes everywhere, and that includes social media.

Cuban used Twitter to complain after Friday night's game that Denver's J.R. Smith was not called for coming off the bench to taunt Antoine Wright after he missed a shot near the Nuggets bench.

Cuban said in another posting Sunday that he "can't say no one makes money from twitter now. the nba does."

And people say spending time on Twitter doesn't pay off. Once again David Stern is proving to be smarter than the rest of us.

In the locker room of the Dallas Mavericks, two bandanas hang from two different players? lockers. Antoine Wright hangs up a blue bandana, while teammate Jason Terry has a red one. And anyone who has followed gang culture knows that these are the calling cards of two of L.A.?s most violent gangs ...

Basketball Injuries: The Pain of a Sprained Ankle

Caught the tail end of the New Jersey Nets @ Miami Heat third quarter.

With 0.3 tenths of a second left in the quarter, New Jersey Nets swingman Antoine Wright landed badly on his right ankle (which may effectively keep him out of action for the next few weeks based on the fact that he had to be carried to the locker room by a couple of his teammates).

Watching Wright lying on the baseline of American Airlines Arena brought chills down my spine as I began to recall a similar injury that I suffered to right ankle back in July.

It's no picnic folks. YES Network analyst Mark Jackson wasn't kidding when he said that "your body goes weak" and "you wonder if you will ever walk again" when one suffers such an injury.

At least Wright's ankle was "likely" taped (a standard operating procedure for today's NBA player) when he landed near the base of his opponents foot. Mine wasn't. And I had the misfortune of wearing running shoes in lieu of basketball shoes.
Anyway, here is hoping for a quick and speedy recovery to Antoine Wright.

Shout outs and best wishes as well to Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning who had surgery yesterday on a "torn patellar tendon and quadriceps tear in his right leg."

Congratulations are also in order to New Jersey Nets quintessential point guard who scored his 14,000th career point in their game against Miami yesterday. Yahoo Sports reports that Kidd is "the third player in NBA history with that many points to go with 8,500 assists and 6,500 rebounds, joining Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson."
