The Winter Meetings start tomorrow in Indianapolis. The Jays have 3 large holes to fill and the most talked about trade piece in the game. Their needs, not that they are a secret: Catcher: they have decided they don't want to go with JP Arencibia and Raul Chavez. I know JP didn't have a very good year last year in Vegas but I'm not against the idea of throwing him against the wall and seeing if he sticks. Let's face it, last year Rod Barajas got on base at a .258 clip...

The Mets are in the market for a 1B and the first name this off-season they were linked to was Lyle Overbay. That three team deal has been long since shot down, however; Overbay is still believed to be available. The 32 y/o left handed 1B is a lifetime .280 hitter and known as a solid defender. Jays' first baseman Lyle Overbay has got himself into a little controversy with Alex Cora. Here's why. Cora was flipped over by Overbay on a double-play that ended the eighth inning of a 5-3 Red Sox's win at the Rogers Centre a week ago tomorrow. Overbay slid out of the baseline with his arms raised to break up the double play and Cora had to be restrained by teammate Dustin Pedroia.
