Woo! What a game at the Wachovia Center today. Despite being outshot heavily by the visiting Hurricanes, the Flyers summarily dispatched them, 6-1. Ne mask for Ray Emery, goalie for the Philadelphia Flyers. Others on the mask include Joe Frasier and Rocky Balboa. Emery is a big boxing fan, who in the past has sported Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather on his mask. He's also known for getting into a few scuffles himself, an oddity for a goalie. Report: Niittymaki to Sign With Ray Emery's Former Russian Club

In an interesting twist of fate, it appears that free agent goalie Antero Niittymaki will head to the Russian KHL's Atlant Mytishchi, filling the spot vacated by Ray Emery, who was recently signed to be the Flyers' starter in '08-'09. Hopefully he'll have better luck with the team's staff than Emery did. Good luck to a good guy. We'll miss Nitty.

The troubled goalie showed up late for practice yesterday after spending the all-star break in Las Vegas and may have played his final game in an Ottawa uniform. Emery could be facing an indefinite suspension without pay after he showed up at the rink at 4:04 p.m. yesterday for the club's 4 p.m. practice. Could Emery be on his way out now? The question still remains how many teams would take a chance on Emery?

In a very dull day of sports the world of hockey shines through with a nice 12 man brawl. My favorite part is the malicious smile on the Ottawa goalies face that just screams, "Dude I'm going to beat the piss out of you right now, I've been waiting my whole pro career for a fight, your done." Than he's taking punches in the face and smiling the whole time. Ray Emery is officially the coolest player in the NHL.
