A Bridge Too Far And Far Too Long

The Miami Dolphins are a storied franchise.? They get little respect from the mainstream media because frankly, they have always been a bunch of guys that just went out and did their jobs.? Talk about the 1972 team leads media types outside of Miami calling the team "old" and "bitter".? While Jim

The Miami Dolphins ended the Saturday practice by announcing that tight end Aaron Haltermen and guard Reuben Riley have been released.? The move frees up two roster positions that soon could belong to recently worked out Quincy Carter and possibly Terry Glenn.

Intrasquad Scrimmage on 8/02 - Well, Kind of…

Coach Sparano plans to put his team through a series of drills simulating live scenarios, from 2-minute drills to Red Zone situations, this Saturday August 2nd. He stated that the team will not be split evenly into 2 "teams" of 40 players however. The plan is to run the first offensive unit against the first defensive unit, second units against one another, etc. but did hint that they may switch things up at some point just to see how things shake out. All 3 quarterbacks are expected to be involved in some manner.
I'm sure that they are wanting to see these players in every possible situation (except Sparano did emphasize that there will be no hitting in terms of players going to the ground) to get a read on those that have a shot at making the roster. So, in essence this is "pre" preseason simulation as the Dolphins continue to work and prepare for their first preseason game against the Buccaneers on August 9th at Dolphin Stadium.
