Juan Rivera maybe available

It's seems like the Mets are always interested in Juan Rivera, the 30 y/o right handed corner outfielder has been a mainstay of Mets rumors for several years. He is a lifetime .282 hitter, with a Slg. pct. .470 and an OBP .331/ OPS .801. Rivera has played one major league game at first, but the Angels have contemplated the move for years and he has extensively practiced at the position. Last off-season he signed a three year deal to stay with the Angels worth 12.75MM ( '10'-4.25MM...

Angels in the Ninth

Mariano Rivera gets to face the heart of the Angels order, Hunter, Guerrero and Juan Rivera. That makes this a bit of a tough save.
Update: Brett Gardner comes in to play center and Melky Cabrera replaces Damon in left.
Update: Oops. Mariano walks Torii Hunter to start the inning.

REVELATIONS

Well, I have to say this season has been a season of surprises for me. We have gotten the predictable production out of Vlad Guerrero and Torii Hunter (despite injuries), Juan Rivera, Chone Figgins and the catchers. But 3 things have really opened my eyes this seaason.
1) Erick Aybar: I was never a believer until I saw this kid play SS for a full season. Not only does he make all the routine plays, he makes the spectacular ones too, and plays Angels baseball the way the Soth wants him to...

Mets trade for Rivera looking unlikely

The New York Mets and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been in talks about Juan Rivera, but a trade is starting to look more and more unlikely. On the surface a trade between the two ball clubs would make perfect sense.

For the Angels, they'd love to move an outfielder and if its Rivera they'd love to send him out of the American League where they don't have to face him. For the Mets, they need right handed hitting outfielder.

So what's holding this deal up?
