okay boys, so we're continuing on with our thoughts on the great mma sports fan, dana white. coming very soon, we have another fight that easily shows that dana is about one thing, money. he talks about the sport and doing everything for it, etc. but it just isn't true. he did all that footwork for the money. randy couture vs. brock lesnar. first of all, who the hell is brock lesnar to be on the same card as randy couture, let alone in a fight against him? he's won how many mma fights? out of those fights, were either one of them #1 contenders for the heavyweight title? do you really believe that anyone other than brock lesnar would be treated the same, only having to fight twice to get a shot at randy? i think not. why does brock get a shot, cuz it'll sell tickets, the same reason bj penn is getting a shot at georges st. pierre. dana could care less if either contenders were qualified to fight opponents like gsp or randy, he just cares about the figures. bj penn lost both his last welterweight fights, how does that make him #1 contender? even the mighty anderson silva is still having to prove himself in the light-heavyweight division before he gets a shot at the title. is dana seriously suggesting that bj penn deserves more credit than anderson silva? dana white is repeatedly showing serious disrespect towards his fighters and putting them in positions champions from other sports wouldn't dream of accepting. could you imagine mayweather fighting booker t or some crap like that? i seriously think not. dana, you're doing a great job at bringing mma down, i think it's time you step aside and let someone who is a true sports enthusiast take over, not a money enthusiast like you.

Apparently, the UFC is making even more money during bad economic times. Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta say that the reason they get even more sales is that in tough times, people need entertainment to soothe their souls, and watching UFC on pay-per-view is a cheap form of entertainment. Kevin "Kimbo" Ferguson isn't worth is weight in $#!&, never was. Ken Shamrock, a pioneer in the sport has been a human punching bag for the past 5 years, still is. Seth Petruzelli had a look of fear in his eyes seconds into the fight as he backed up against the cage, the same look that EliteXC executives had seconds later as their media magnate hit the canvas. Congratulations to Petruzelli, he definitely did to Kimbo what many of us wish we could do ourselves, but the jury is still out on this kid and his "Buster" Douglas-ish style upset. I can only hope that Couture is able to knock Lesnar, an ignominy, off his hand given pedestal for a perfect trifecta in 2008.

Kimbo Slice, Brock Lesnar and now a possible Kurt Angle. Are MMA organizations selling out? Fans are outraged that Slice and Lesnar gets main event status not to mention pay days in the hundreds of thousands of dollars with no real MMA bouts or victories under their belts. I'm sure Angle will be the same.

The UFC is beating the WWE and HBO in PPV numbers for 2008 so far. Adam Swift goes over the numbers on "Inside MMA" in the video below.

UFC 89 and UFC 90 are solid cards, but they probably won't do much more than the average of 420,000 buys. On the other hand, UFC 91, with the huge match-up of Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar, plus Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva 3 and Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson may break UFC PPV records.
