Jesse Taylor vs C.B. Dollaway Set for July 19th UFN 14

MMA Junkie has confirmed that "The Ultimate Fighter 7" runner-up C.B. Dollaway will take on show reject Jesse Taylor.

UFC President Dana White had mentioned that he would be willing to give Taylor a second chance after Taylor ruined his chances of winning TUF 7 by going on a drunken rampage in Palace Station, a casino owned by UFC owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta. Dollaway replaced Taylor in the finals after beating Tim Credeur, but lost a second time to show winner Amir Sadollah.

This is a fight that most watching the show would've predicted to be the final bout for who takes home the contract, but Amir Sadollah surprised by beating the former Arizona State wrestling standout twice, in the process giving him his first career loss.

Should be a good scrap.

Cain Velasquez vs. Jake Obrien official for UFC Fight Night 14

I had talked about Cain Velasquez fighting on this card previously and now mmamania has confirmed the fight. I think Cain takes this fight very easy. He has better wrestling, trains with amazing wrestlers at AKA and frankly I think standup wise he is much better than Jake O'Brien. Maybe I am not giving Jake enough credit?

Anderson Silva vs James Irvin to Headline July 19th "UFC Fight Night 14"

MMA Rated has confirmed that UFC middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva will move up to the 205lb light heavyweight division to fight James Irvin on July 19th for a speacial UFC event dubbed "Ultimate Fight Night 14". The event will air on Spike TV opposite of Affliction's first foray into live events with its pay-per-view offering "Affliction: Banned" featuring a main event between top heavyweights Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia.

Also, lightweight contenders Hermes Franca and Frankie Edgar will battle it out, a fight originally scheduled for UFC 87 now has been added to the July 19th card. It was originally reported that a main event between Wanderlei Silva and Brandon Vera was possible, but MMA Junkie is reporting that Silva wasn't physically prepared for the bout. Brandon Vera will still fight on the card and take on UFC newcomer and former IFL vet Reese Andy.

Also scheduled for the event is a heavyweight showdown between Cain Velasquez and recently re-signed Jake O'Brien. Anthony Johnson, coming off an impressive knockout of Tommy Speer will take on Kevin Burns who recently won his UFC debut at UFC 85 against Roan Carneiro with a second round triangle choke.

The event will be held at The Palms Casino Resort and it is expected to be announced on The Ultimate Fighter tonight.

All I can say about this news is "Thank god for DVR"!

Looks like UFC is not going to let Affliction steal it's thunder with their main event on July 19th of Tim Sylvia versus Fedor Emeliankenko. Details are sparse so far, but July 19th will be the night and Cain Velasquez and Brandon Vera will be on the card. Vera is going down to 205 pounds after suffering losses to Tim Sylvia and Fabricio Werdum. Good luck Affliction you are going to need it.
