Brook Lopez Doesn’t want the Playoffs to End because he Lacks a Social Life

Typically this late into a NBA season, there has to be something motivating a player for the long haul of the playoffs. Whether that be the chase for that coveted championship ring, a new contract, or simply just the love of the game, there is something internally that motivates a player.
Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has positioned himself as one of the best big men in the game today with his strong performance over the season and the playoffs. But with his team down 3 games to 2 in the quarterfinals, one more loss will end his season. On the brink of elimination when asked about what it is that motivates him, Lopez’s answer might just surprise you.
Per The Brooklyn Game: So what motivates him? Is it the desire to be the best basketball player to ever live? The competitive drive to rip his opponent’s throat out? The inner fire he channels to pour on the points and lead his team to victory?
According to Lopez:
“I don’t really have a social life. I like hanging out with my guys here. So I real

Lopez: I lack a social life

credit: nj.com The Brooklyn Nets are currently battling the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. While they trail Chicago, it’s clear the Nets fans have to be impressed from what they have seen lately from center Brook Lopez. Lopez has had a year which has convinced many that he is one of the top big men in the league, particularly on the offensive end. He’s a major part of the team, and has been backing up the big-time contract that the franchise gave him this summer. All this being said, Brook Lopez surely doesn’t want the playoffs to end. His reasoning is just a little bit different from that of most other NBA players. Via The Brooklyn Game: So what motivates him? Is it the desire to be the best basketball player to ever live? The competitive drive to rip his opponent’s throat out?
Nets win big in Game 5 to stay alive

Brook Lopez had 28 points and 10 rebounds, Deron Williams added 23 points and 10 assists, and the Brooklyn Nets beat Chicago 110-91 on Monday night, cutting the Bulls' lead to 3-2 in their first-round playoff series.

Andray Blatche scored 10 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter and Gerald Wallace had consecutive baskets down the stretch as the Nets finally pulled away in a game they led most of the way, but never by too much.

Two days after rallying for a 142-134 triple-overtime victory, the Bulls were outscored 15-1 down the stretch and failed to set up a second-round series with Miami. Instead they will host Game 6 on Thursday.

Analyzing the NBA’s top scorers for 2012-2013

This year the competition for the annual scoring crown came down to the very last month. While Kevin Durant held the top spot for the majority of the season, Carmelo Anthony’s late season scoring binge resulted in a new #1 scorer. An unusual situation occurred when two sets of teammates (Durant and Westbrook/James and Wade) both cracked the top 10. While all of these top 10 scorers have the potential to pour in 30 points on any given night, the method in which they do so often varies.... Read more

Video: Deron Williams no-looks to Brook Lopez for the smash dunk

The Brooklyn Nets saw to it that the Chicago Bulls had a rough night on Saturday.
Game 1 of their Eastern Conference playoff series was not a game as much as it was a beating.
The 106-89 score does not even do much justice to how poorly Chicago played on Saturday.
The sloppy, uneven mess was uninspired as they allowed Deron Williams and Brook Lopez to score a combined 43 points.
Despite what it looks like, the Bulls won’t stay down for long.
In the meantime, enjoy this smooth no-look pass from Deron Williams to Brook Lopez for the power dunk.

Video: Brandon Bass thumps Brook Lopez at the rim

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Boston Celtics 101-93 on Wednesday.
The Celtics Brandon Bass took some of the game’s frustration out on the rim and Nets center Brook Lopez.
Lopez certainly was not backed down as hard as some people were this season were ( i.e. Jason Terry), but he was backed down all the same.

Brook Lopez Posterizing Dunk Over Twin Brother Robin (Video)

One can only imagine the thrill of having a twin sibling and you both achieve the ultimate success in your trade or sport you play.
That thrill has to double in size when you are able to posterize your twin with a nasty dunk during a NBA game. That is exactly the thrill Brook Lopez got when he dunked on brother Robin last night during the Brooklyn Nets win over the New Orleans Hornets.
Brook found the dunk hilarious a few minutes later while sitting on the bench.

Brook Lopez Let's His Brother Have It With Monster Dunk

The next time the Lopez clan gets together you know this play is going to come up.

Tuesday night the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Hornets had a game. Each has one of the Lopez twins; Brook plays for Brooklyn and Robin for New Orleans. During the third quarter Brook absolutely destroyed his brother with a powerful jam.

To add insult to injury, Robin can't even say 'well, at least we won the game.' That honor went to the Nets, 108-98.

Video: Brooklyn Nets Brook Lopez humiliates his brother Robin Lopez

The Brooklyn Nets Brook Lopez proved that twin brothers often fight with a little bit more intensity than brothers that are separated by a year or more.
Brook’s Nets took on Robin’s Suns on Tuesday and when Nets point guard Deron Williams dished the rock to Brook he had no problem dunking all over his brother in front of an arena full of fans.
Talk about a conversation piece during the holidays.

Brook Lopez dunks over twin brother Robin

There may not have been some big, gangly, awkward fights in the Lopez household when twin NBA centers Brook and Robin were growing up. Brook, now with the Nets, has averaged 17.7 points and seven rebounds whereas Robin has averaged 6.9 points and 3.7 boards. Brook also had the upper hand in this slam in which brother Robin was slow to react to his brother crashing down on him. I have not yet received confirmation is Mother Lopez has sent Brook to his room. Nets announcer Ian Eagle certainly enjoyed it calling it a “man jam.” Brook’s Nets beat Robin’s Hornets 108-98. Brook had 26 to Robin’s 15. Yes, Robin is the lesser twin. But hey, he their Stanford education is the same (assuming Robin actually went to class).

Brook Lopez Dunks All Over His Brother

The Brooklyn Nets took on the New Orleans Hornets Tuesday night and there was a disturbing case of brother on brother crime which occurred. Brook Lopez didn’t hold back when he saw his brother blocking the rim during the third quarter and took the opportunity to create a poster of Robin to show off to the rest of the family. The result was near catastrophic, and we would love to be a fly on the wall at the next Lopez family reunion.

Brook Lopez was on The Boomer and Carton show on Friday and the co-hosts asked him to do something that he’s probably never done while giving an interview. The Nets center was asked by the hosts to re-enact a famous scene from the 1991 film “Silence of the Lambs.” Lopez was asked to play the role of the creepy Buffalo Bill. With that deep voice, if a remake is ever considered, Lopez should get a casting call. Check out the audio:
