Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman: “I’m the metaphysical offspring of John Lennon, James Dean and…2Pac”

Okay, that's not actually a direct quote, but it might as well have been. Whether it's drugs, anxiety, or just another tragic case of Christian Bale Disease (extremely over-inflated sense of self-worth), Joaquin Phoenix put on quite a show on Letterman last night. Then again, maybe that's just it; it's all an act. Is Phoenix the one that's really laughing here? Very well could be, but who cares. For now, I'm just going to assume that he takes himself this seriously, it makes it so much better. I'm also going to assume he's an ass, which may be true regardless of what theory you subscribe to. A bigger ass than Letterman? Not sure, that's for you to decide. Make the jump for the video, where Joaquin mumbles about his dreams of becoming the world's first Method Rapper... (thanks DS)

STF's All Badass Names Team

King Cannon shows Kentucky the Meaning of Badass Finals Week is a perfect time to roll out the unusual notions that might be pushed aside by actual basketball analysis. So when we saw this "tweet" from the midmajority twitter feed, we knew it had to be done: There's a redshirting freshman on UC ...

Touchy, Touchy

In the very real chance that you missed it yesterday, I'd like to direct you to the uproar that yesterday's list caused over at the Carnival. For those of you who would rather not click, it was my list of cursed NFL positions, including such luminaries as Chicago QB, Eagles Coach and Cardinals Owner. For the most part, fans from the tweaked fan bases look it in stride, added fuel to the fire (I did not know that the last time Lion QB made a Pro Bowl was in 1972), or pointed out my occ...

Anyone Want a Razzie Award?

Some All of us are upset about the death of Heath Ledger. But none more than wacky Scientologist John Travolta. John told Woman's Day magazine, "I did know Heath and I adored him. I am pretty devastated over this. He was my favourite actor and my favourite talent. It's like losing James Dean. I would give back all my awards and all my nominations just to have him back — I think he is a real loss as a persona and as a talent. And this whole evening is very hard for me. We are cele...
