Here in Cincinnati, all the sports talk has been about former Xavier head coach Sean Miller. Miller is leaving the Muskies for the Arizona gig which reportedly will pay him $2M a season.Most of the sports talk guys and the callers to their shows are ripping Miller. How could he leave Xavier? Doesn't he know that this team will be really good next year? Some have even called him a liar.Excuse me, but you do know you are Xavier ... right?I know people hate feeling like they've been used...

A ridiculously busy Monday led to a spirited Fanster Fastcast on Monday. The U of A made by hiring a new head coach, Sean Miller of Xavier, who less than 12 hours earlier, had turned down the job. Vince thinks Arizona A.D. Jim Livengood recovered nicely and made a good hire. Sean Miller had a chance to sleep on it and wouldn't you know he would rather spend his winters in Tucson, Arizona than Cincinnati, Ohio.

Foxsports.com's Jeff Goodman is reporting that Sean Miller changed his mind and will accept an offer as head basketball coach at Arizona.
Miller and Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood agree in principal to a seven year deal in excess of $2 million per season.
A press conference is expected Tuesday.
Those of us in the OSG HQ were convinced Sean Miller would stay in Cincy. You can't blame a guy when over $2 million per year is there with your name on it. Theus "Absolutely" Interested In Arizona Job

Steve Rivera is hot on the trail of Arizona's new head coach- whoever it is...

"I think it's a great job in a great conference," Theus told the Tucson Citizen's Geoff Grammer via phone from California. "For me, with my ability to recruit the West Coast and all over the country, it's a great job for me.

"And it's a job I look at as my last basketball job."

Theus was coach of the Sacramento Kings until last December. Before that, he was the head coach for New Mexico State.

Rivera also decided to make his own list of people to target for the opening since the names who have turned it down includes guys like Floyd, Few, Sean Miller of Xavier, Jeff Capel, and UNLV's Lon Kruger.

He's suggesting guys like Seth Greenberg, Clemson's Oliver Purnell, and Creighton's Dana Altman.

Those of us at OSG HQ don't ever think Altman will leave Omaha. Or, if he does, he'll change his mind a day later. But no one wants to be at a school that will be dealing with NCAA sanctions- unless you're Tom Crean.

Arizona Not Giving Up On Xavier's Miller

Xavier's Sean Miller ((pictured, thanks Joe Robbins/Getty)) boarded a private plane sent by Arizona officials early Sunday and flew to Albuquerque, N.M., to meet with Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood about coaching the Wildcats, multiple sources told CBSSports.com.

Whether Arizona asked Xavier for permission to speak with Miller is unclear, and also moot. Requesting permission to speak with another schools' coach is mostly a courtesy in this business, almost never a necessity. To wit, sources have told CBSSports.com that people working on behalf of Arizona have contacted various high-major coaches all season in informal ways, in some cases as early as November.

According to sources, Miller has been told he could receive a package at Arizona worth more than $15 million spread over seven years. Still, there is no guarantee he'll take the job, the sources said, because he's comfortable at Xavier and positioned to have a team that should win another Atlantic 10 title next season.
Miller has been at Xavier five seasons.
He has made four NCAA tournaments, including one Elite Eight.

Arizona has already been publicly rejected in its search to replace Lute Olson by Southern California's Tim Floyd. Some other candidates the school has informally pursued to varying degrees are Mark Few (Gonzaga), Jamie Dixon (Pittsburgh), John Calipari (Memphis/Kentucky), Jeff Capel (Oklahoma), Bruce Pearl (Tennessee) and Tom Izzo (Michigan State).
Checking with the Arizona Republic's Paola Boivin again, she raises an interesting point...
Miller is considered a top candidate to replace Jim Calhoun when the Connecticut coach, who has battled recent health issues, steps down... Andy Katz with the four-letter says that Xavier AD Mike Bobinski is prepared to make any kind of counter-offer if Livengood throws a US Mint at Miller- which is expected. "We have done and will continue to do whatever is humanely possible to keep Sean."

JAMIE DIXON TO USC, SEAN MILLER TO PITT?

As long as a prominent west-coast basketball job is open, expect Jamie Dixon's name to be on the short list of candidates. So if USC's Tim Floyd starts the coaching carousel by jumping to Arizona, that would open up the Trojans job. Sean Miller's Xavier Musketeers put up a valiant effort in the Sweet 16 last night against #1 seeded Pitt, but, alas, it wasn't enough (and thankfully so for all 7 of my brackets). Could the Musketeers have used Coach Miller himself out on the court last night? Sounds crazy, but, after watching the video below, I'm leaning towards "Yes". You know, I gave Xavier and its fanbase a pretty hard time last year after they ended my beloved Dawgs miraculous run to the Tourney.
