One of the newest Devil Rays, veteran catcher Gregg Zaun, had a sparkling Devil Ray Moment Sunday afternoon. Pinch-hitting in the bottom of the 8th inning with two outs in a tie game, Grand Slam. Devil Rays win. Earlier in the game, Zaun was shown on the bench, and I thought he looked like a slimmer John Kruk (albeit with twice the testicles). The Rays announced Rhyne Hughes as the player to be named later in the deal that sent Gregg Zaun from the Orioles to the Rays. The Rays will also receive cash from the Orioles to offset some of Zaun's salary. Hughes, 25, was an 8th round selection for the Rays in the 2004 draft.
