      <title>Chronically Hurt vs. Terminally Terrible</title>
<description>The MLB season is now completely open for business and in the first two days of action some familiar patterns have reared their heads. On opening day Boston's JD Drew injured himself. On day two Pedro Martinez injured himself. Mr. Injury, Nomar Garciaparra didn't even make it to Opening Day. This begs the question, why are some guys so prone to injury? JD (stands for "Just Disabled") Drew can't make it from the locker room to the field without pulling a hammy. Pedro throws 5 pitches looking like he's got his old form and then, blau!, he's back on the DL. Are they unlucky or just fragile like little porcelain figurine bobbleheads?

Another pattern is repeating itself this season as well. The curse of the Chronically Terrible has once again struck Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and its latest victim, San Francisco. Does anyone remember when the Pirates we're good? I think they had a guy named Barry Lamar Bonds. Coincedentally, the last time San Francisco was good they had a guy named Barry Lamar Bonds, but if you go to AT&amp;T park you won't see any sign of his existence. How must it feel to be a bottom feeder team knowing that you have 160 games left and you'll probably lose 100 of those? Talk about depression sessions.

So, take your pick. Would you rather be chronically injured or terminally terrible? Either way, there are spots in the MLB for both.

<title>Is J.D. Drew's grace period over in Red Sox Nation?</title>
<description>As fans, we never love every player on the teams we root for, even when those teams win titles. There's always that one guy who can't seem to get with the program, who's constantly giving you angst. If he's not looking at a called third strike or hitting into a rally-killing double play, he's a last-minute scratch when you wake up at 5:45 a.m., turn on ESPN2, and find out Brandon Moss is playing right field for the Red Sox on Opening Day in Japan.</description>

      <title>How smart is the Yard?</title>
<description>While the idea of community projections has existed in blog circles for a while, I haven't seen any real good breakdown as to if those projections were more accurate in aggregate vs. any single individual or experts predictions.
So here is what I propose to you today; let's find out.
All you have to do is click on the links below to fill out a form for each player asking for predictions for the following statistics; AVG, OBP, SLG, HR, RBI, SB and for pitchers - Wins, Losses, ERA, Strike Outs/9 IP, IP, and Saves.
If you would like to provide your name or MVN "handle", it will only be used to call out how correct, or incorrect you are at the end of the season. If you would rather not provide any information linking yourself to your predictions and providing a layer of plausible deniability, feel free to leave it blank.
Lastly, please provide the team you root for on a regular basis. Could it be that the collective intelligence of Yankee fans about Red Sox players is more accurate than the fans that live and die all things Sox? We will hopefully find out.
