Undefeated Canadian prospect Adam Trupish signs with Greg Cohen

Greg Cohen of Greg Cohen Promotions is proud to announce the signing of undefeated Adam "A-Bomb" Trupish (11-0, 8 KOs) to a promotional contract.
Trupish, from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, is a two-time Olympian and was ranked fifth in the world after the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships. He represented Canada at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and was the only Canadian boxer (in any weight class) to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
As a professional, Trupish has already enjoyed impressive success. In just 11 fights, he has taken the Canadian middleweight and super middleweight championships and also won and successfully defended the NABA Light Middleweight title.
Along the way, Trupish has scored stoppages over long-time Canadian Middleweight Champion Larry Sharpe (25-8), Brazil's dangerous Rogerio Pereira (16-1) and useful Detroit veteran Darryl Cunningham (25-3).

Jesus Gonzales to return August 3 in Arizona?

August 3 is the date bandied about for the ring return of former IBF/NABF Super Middleweight Champion Jesus "El Martillo" Gonzales. After his humiliating 1st round KO at the hands of Adonis Stevenson earlier this year, Gonzales quickly became a punch line as opposed to a fighter known for doing his punching in the ring.
Expect the event to be held at one of the casinos in Arizona. Fan Base Promotions will produce the show if it happens. ESPN is well aware of the rating numbers their televised Gonzales vs. Sierra event generated on July 8, 2011. According to published reports, it was a fan favorite bout of 2011 and the attendance was reported at 5,000 which is huge for a ESPN televised fight.
Gonzales hopes a main event appearance on ESPN Friday Night Fights will prove to the boxing world that he is once again a contender and not a pretender. ESPN has nixed three potential opponents including Albert "The Punisher" Onolunose. Deal could be announced in...

Trupish KOs Trotter in 1st Round in Calgary “Time for Truth” Fight Card

Boxing fans who traveled on the QE 2 Highway to Calgary, Alberta on Friday, January 13 to watch Challenger Janks Trotter battle two time Canadian Olympian and current NABA Light Middleweight Champion Adam "The A-Bomb" at Desperado's Night Club expected a knockout and that expectation came to fruition as Trupish stopped Trotter a few seconds before the halfway point in the first round of a bout scheduled for 10. The win moves Trupish's record to 10-0 w/7 knockouts while Trotter's record now stands at 7-1-1 w/7 knockouts.
People who didn't witness this fight; instead, relied on their daily newspaper or Internet blogger/fan accounts as a source of information may get the impression that Mr. Trotter was a sacrificial lamb who didn't put up much resistance. In reality, the 27 year old Calgarian dominated the 32 year old Fighter from Edmonton until he made the fatal mistake of taking a step back and lowering his hands. Trupish stepped forwar...

Here is the interview in its entirety.
Interview Conducted by Dominic Welles
DW: 8 months ago some boxing pundits were calling you a club fighter with no chance of becoming anything but a journeyman in the ring....were you offended?
JT: No, writers are going to write whatever they feel like writing...My job is to fight.
DW: Your record is 7-0-1 with 7 knockouts...would you be getting more press if you were an American fighting out of Chicago. After all, Canada isn't the boxing capitol of the world!
JT: I don't have any control over that stuff..I'm Canadian...do you want to see my birth certificate?
DW: Can I take a rain check? I hear rumors that you want to win a world title and t...
